Let’s learn more about the fascinating stories and the journey of conquering this prestigious scholarship by Ky Minh at Fulbright University.

“GATE has provided me with many opportunities to develop my passion and cultivate a community-oriented mindset – the valuable ‘ingredients’ that helped me conquer the highest scholarship.”

Ky Minh, a self-proclaimed “child of social sciences,” credits the GATE Center for providing him with opportunities to develop his passion and cultivate a community-oriented mindset – the invaluable “ingredients” that aided him in securing the highest scholarship. The GATE Center’s unique talent development model, focusing on “Developing talents to serve the community,” allowed him to enhance his specialized knowledge and undertake practical projects that benefit society.

“Through GATE, I had the opportunity to connect with leading experts in History and International Relations. GATE provided me with the chance to ‘hone’ and develop my passion in a meticulous and professional manner. GATE also created conditions for me to spread my passion to the community through the History Bookshelf Project, organizing talk shows, interactive activities, exhibitions, historical witness visits, etc. I am truly grateful to the GATE center and the teachers who trained me here!” – Ky Minh shared.

In addition to academic aspirations, Ky Minh initiated the community project “Lectio Reading Society” to cultivate reading habits for young people and raise charity funds for a bookshelf in Lao Cai. Minh’s intense passion for social sciences and community-oriented activities positioned him as a valuable candidate in the scholarship application process.

“Vinschool has created a very open and liberating learning environment.”

One of the secrets that helped Ky Minh win the 100% Fulbright scholarship is his excellent English proficiency with an IELTS score of 8.5 since 11th grade, especially a perfect 9.0 for Listening and Speaking skills. Thanks to the learning environment that maximizes students’ use of English at Vinschool with the principle of “English for further study,” Minh can comfortably use English in a wide variety of situations. This has given him a significant advantage in conveying his direction and passion in order to persuade the scholarship evaluation committee.

“I also feel fortunate that Vinschool has organized many career-oriented events, University Exhibitions, and interaction events between Vinsers and admissions representatives from Fulbright University. Therefore, I had many opportunities to engage with and listen to the suggestions of teachers to perfect my scholarship application.” – Ky Minh enthusiastically shared about the process of reaching his prestigious goal.

Sending a message to Vinsers who are nurturing the goal of winning valuable scholarships at top universities in Vietnam and around the world, Ky Minh emphasizes: “Follow your passion to the end! Vinschool is an ideal environment for us to find like-minded comrades and establish projects with both collaborative and purposeful goals to spread our passion and serve the community. Trust yourself; if we only focus on the curriculum, we won’t truly enjoy our student years. Participate in competitions, join, or even establish your own projects/clubs.”

Many thanks to Ky Minh for sharing his interesting and inspirational story! All of us wish him continued success on his chosen path to one day become a leading expert in the field of social sciences where he will bring positive and enduring influence to the community.
