I. ADMISSIONS POLICY:

  • Priority enrollment: 
  1. Children who are biological children, paternal/maternal grandchildren of owners of condos/villas in Vinhomes urban areas and are living in such condos/villas will be given priority enrollment at the Vinschool campuses in such urban areas in case of vacancy; 
  2. Children who are children of teachers, staff and employees working in the Vinschool network and Vingroup subsidiaries (but not belonging to the first priority group mentioned above) will be given priority enrollment at Vinschool campuses with vacancies; 
  3. Vinschool students who meet transition requirements (if not belonging to the first priority group mentioned above) will be enrolled at appropriate campuses based on the available slots; 
  4. All others will be enrolled dependent upon available slots. 
  • Requirements for Vinschool alumni: 
  1. Students enrolled at Vinschool Primary, Secondary and High schools during the 2019-2020 school year will be eligible to attend the next grade within the same education stage for the 2020-2021 school year, provided students complete their current curriculum. Also, parents fulfill tuition duties for students in accordance with the financial regulations for both the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 school years; 
  2. Students who transition >> move to the next education stage within the Vinschool system will be given priority enrollment, including Alvin students to Grade 1, Grade 5 students to Grade 6, and Grade 9 students to Grade 10 according to the Student Transition Policy; 
  3. Students who wish to study at another campus will have their request answered >> response based on the aforementioned priority enrollment principles and the availability of slots and ESL classes matching their level.

II. ENROLLMENT AGE: 

  • For the 2019 – 2020 >> 2020 – 2021 school year, Vinschool will enroll students according to the following age groups: 
  1. Kindergartenchildren born between 2015 and 2018, and between January and June 2019 (at selected campuses);  
  2. Primary schoolstudents born between 2010 and 2014;  
  3. Secondary school: students born between 2006 and 2009;  
  4. High school: students born between 2003 and 2005. 
  • When the students’ age does not appropriately match the grade or education stage, the school reserves the right to review and accept students pursuant to regulations applicable to kindergartens, primary schools and inter-level schools. 

 III. CLASS SIZES: 

Vinschool has specific class sizes for its classes as follows: 

  • Kindergartencapped at 20-30 students per class, depending on the age agroup and program. 
  • Primary, Secondary and High school: capped at 25 students per Advanced class and 30 students per Standard class. 

In special cases, standard class size may vary with a 5% deviation rate, but will not fall below the national standard for average area/student in terms of school design while ensuring the best possible conditions for learning and teaching.

1. New students’ enrollment in Vinschool education network: 

  • Kindergarten applicationsstudents do not have infectious diseases, dangerous congenital anomaliesor special education needs (as the current school facilities do not meet students’ special education needs). 
  • Primary school applications: students’ academic performance of at least Pass; and civics (skills, ethics) of at least Pass.  
  • Secondary school applications: students must have completed the primary school curriculum; has civics assessment of Very Good and academic performance of at least Good during the most recent school year and semester (for student applications for the 2nd semester).  
  • High school applications: students must have graduated from secondary school; has civics assessment of Very Good and academic performance of at least Good during most recent school year and semester (for student applications for the 2nd semester). 
  • Students who are not registered in household booklets in cities or provinces where the Vinschool campuses they apply to are located, students who are foreigners living in Vietnam, or are Vietnamese living overseas will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, pursuant to the regulations prescribed by the Departments of Education and Training of such cities or provinces.

VI. INTAKE REQUIREMENTS: 

  • All new students applying to Vinschool must past a screening assessment process organized by the school. Each student may only be screened once per semester. 
  • Students who are attending Vinschool Standard classes at Primary, Secondary and High schools must pass the ESL test in order to switch to Advanced program (Cambridge). Students in Grade 10 or higher grades who wish to switch to Advanced program must pass the Mathematics and Science tests in English in addition to the ESL test. Each student may only be screened once per semester. 
  • For Kindergarten: intake screening for kindergarten aims to record children’s characteristics and abilities, which homeroom teachers may take note of upon intake of a new class, and provide the appropriate care – teaching necessary for a child’s development. The screening is also an opportunity to identify from an early age those children with special needs, or those who require special education provided by special education facilities. Parents can also receive counseling to provide joint care and teaching efforts. Our facilities will not accept children who are carriers of infectious diseases, or suffers from dangerous congenital anomalies as per state regulations related to kindergartens. Vinschool kindergarten intake screening is conducted via interview format, but is really a conversation between teachers and students through words, gestures and body language. During the conversation with the family, teachers may include the use of appropriate teaching tools, toys or games to attract children’s attention, create scenarios to observe prospective students’ reaction, and take note of their skills. The contents of the conversation will be simple cognitive assessments of skills and knowledge appropriate to the age group, including simple motor functions (holding, grasping, stacking, walking, running, jumping, etc.) 
  • For Primary, Secondary and High schoolstudents will have their academic performance assessed in the following subjects: 
  1. Vinschool Standard programMathematics, Vietnamese Language/Literature, ESL, Logical thinking;

II. ENROLLMENT AGE:

For the 2019 – 2020 school year, Vinschool kindergartens will enroll children according to the following age groups:

  • Junior Kitty: for children born from January 2018 to June 2018 provided they are fully 18-months old upon starting school (the Junior Kitty category is only available at select campuses)
  • Big Kitty: for children born from July 2017 to December 2017 (students will transition to Nemo classes in January 2020)
  • Nemo: for children born from January 2017 to June 2017
  • Bambi: for children born in 2016
  • Pooh: for children born in 2015
  • Alvin: for children born in 2014

III. CLASS SIZES:

Vinschool kindergartens has specific class sizes for all its facilities to ensure the best possible care for our students. These criteria are equivalent to or higher than the national standard set by the Ministry of Education and Training. In special cases, standard class size may vary with a 10% deviation rate, but will not fall below the national standard for average area/child for kindergartens.

IV. ENROLLMENT PROCEDURES:

1. Enrollment application:
Parents can start their online enrollment application HERE or apply directly at Enrollment and Customer Care Office of the educational facility which they wish to register. The following documentations and fees will be required for the application:

  • 4×6 photos of the child taken within the past month (a photo may be attached as per instructions provided in the registration link or 04 photos should be submitted in person at the school);
  • 01 health report signed by a physician and sealed by a hospital/examination facility (a copy may be attached as per instructions provided in the registration link and the original copy submitted in person when submitting the application at school);
  • Application fee: 1,500,000 VND (non-refundable in all instances). Receipt of the application fee does not guarantee enrollment.

2. Intake screening:

  • Administering of the screening process: The school will notify parents of the time and venue of the screening 7 days prior through emails and SMS.
  • Screening results: The school will send the screening results to parents via email and SMS 3 days after the screening.

3. Completing enrollment procedures: upon receipt of the notification of induction into Vinschool kindergarten, parents are kindly requested to submit their application and relevant fees as follows:

  • Enrollment application:

– 01 copy of student’s birth certificate (with red seal);

– 02 4×6 photos of student’s parents;

– 01 photocopy of parents’ ID;

– 02 4×6 photos of legal guardian (if any);

– 01 photocopy of legal guardian’s ID (if any);

– 01 photocopy of Household booklet containing information about the student;

– 01 photocopy of student’s unexpired health insurance (if any);

– 01 photocopy of student’s vaccination records;

– 01 photocopy of student’s birth certificate, and his/her siblings currently attending Vinschool in order to be eligible for tuition discount (if any).

  • Enrollment fees: parents can refer to the school’s fees and financial requirements HERE and select the appropriate fees table applicable to the location of the campus applying to.
  • Deadlines for completing enrollment procedures: As per instructions provided by the school in emails announcing the screening results and enrollment procedures completion sent to parents.

III. CLASS SIZES:

Vinschool (primary, middle & high schools) has specific class sizes for its standard classes, capping at 30 students/class. Advanced classes are capped at 25 students/class across all facilities. These criteria are equivalent to or higher than the national standard set by the Ministry of Education and Training. IV. ENROLLMENT APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Primary school applications: students’ academic performance of at least complete; and civics (skills, ethics) of at satisfactory.
  • Middle school applications: students must have completed the primary school curriculum; has civics assessment of good and academic performance of at least good during the most recent school year and semester (for student applications for the 2nd semester).
  • High school applications: students must have graduated from middle school; has civics assessment of good and academic performance of at least good during their 4 years in middle school.
  • Students who are not registered in household booklets in Ha Noi or Hochiminh City, students who are foreigners living in Vietnam, or are Vietnamese living overseas will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, pursuant to the regulations prescribed by the Departments of Education and Training of Ha Noi and Hochiminh City.

V. INTAKE REQUIREMENTS:

  • All new students applying to attend Vinschool must past a screening assessment process organized by the school. Each student may only be screened once per semester.

  • Students currently enrolled in the Vinschool network, including Alvins, grades 5, and 9 will be assessed according to the following criteria when transitioning to a new education stage:

✔ Alvins to grade 1: students must satisfy the following requirements:

  • Students are assessed and categorized into two groups:

– Group 1: students have completed academic expectations for 5-year-old children, and is eligible to graduate to Vinschool’s grade 1.

– Group 2: students in need of additional support in terms of cognitive functions, language, psychological behaviors, health and the School Board of the Primary school will directly meet the students to assess suitability with Primary school’s criteria.

  • For students applying for the Cambridge advanced education system, aside from the above categories, students will be interviewed in English by a native teacher to determine students’ ability to meet intake requirements for this particular educational system.
  • Students meeting health and psychological requirements (the school does not provide special support services).

✔ Students graduating from Grade 5 to 6: students who have completed the primary school curriculum in accordance with regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training who fulfills the following:

  • Academic performance of at least pass, final math and Vietnamese test scores during Grade 5 of at least 6.
  • Civics: starting from at least pass.
  • Students meeting health and psychological requirements (the school does not provide special support services).

✔ Students graduating from Grade 9 to 10: students who have graduated from middle school in accordance with regulations from the Ministry of Education and Training who fulfills the following:

  • Students with academic performance of good or higher for the 2018-2019 school year.
  • Students with civics assessment of good for the 2018-2019 school year and have never been reprimanded for a tier-3 infraction or higher according to student regulations.
  • Students with a pass or higher for Service Learning and Culminating Project subjects..
  • Students meeting health and psychological requirements (the school does not provide special support services).

✔ Students currently enrolled transitioning to a new education stage within the network (Alvins to Grade 1, Grade 5 to 6, Grade 9 to 10) with a pass for the next education stage must fulfill all tuition requirements for the 2019-2020 school year and 2018-2019 school year (if unfulfilled) and other additional documentations within the deadline as informed by the School.

✔ Students currently enrolled in the network with results eligible for the next academic grade should fulfill all tuition requirements for the 2019-2020 school year and 2018-2019 school year (if unfulfilled) according to the timeline provided in the Financial Regulations.

✔ Students with a pass after intake screening should completely fulfill the following:

  • Submit all required documentations for enrollment application.
  • Fulfill financial duties for the 2019-2020 school year to the School.
  • Completing enrollment procedures within the deadline for each enrollment round. The school reserves class allotment priority to students who complete procedures promptly and will not accept additional application once quota are filled.

VI. ENROLLMENT CALENDAR:

  • Vinschool accepts enrollment application for the 2019-2020 school year starting from February 2019.
  • Screenings are continually organized starting from March 2019 and Parents will be informed one week prior to actual screening date.
  • The new school year starts from 15 August 2019 and ends on 31 May 2020.
  • Summer school starts: from 17 June to 26 July 2019.
