Admissions Policy

I. ADMISSIONS POLICY:

  • Priority enrollment:
    • (1) Students who are biological children, paternal/maternal grandchildren of owners of condos/villas in Vinhomes urban areas and are living in such condos/villas will be entitled to priority enrollment at the Vinschool campuses in such urban areas in case of vacancy;
    • (2) Students who are children of leaders, teachers and staff members working in the Vinschool system or Vingroup subsidiaries (if not belonging to the first priority group mentioned above) will be entitled to priority enrollment at Vinschool campuses with vacancies;
    • (3) Vinschool students who meet transition requirements (if not belonging to the first priority group mentioned above) will be enrolled at appropriate campuses based on the available slots;
    • (4) Others will be enrolled depending on the available slots.
  • Requirements for existing Vinschool students:
    • Students enrolled at Vinschool campuses during the 2023-2024 school year will be eligible to attend the next grade within the same educational stage for the 2024-2025 school year, provided that they have completed their current curriculum and their parents have fulfilled all financial obligations in accordance with the Financial Regulations for both the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 school years;
    • Students who transition to the next educational stage within the Vinschool system, including Alvin students to Grade 1, Grade 5to Grade 6, and Grade 9 to Grade 10, are required to satisfy the requirements specified in the Student Transition Policy;
    • Students who wish to study at another campus will have their request answered based on the aforementioned priority enrollment principles and the availability of slots and ESL classes matching their levels;
    • Students who are attending Standard classes at Vinschool Primary, Secondary and High schools must pass the ESL entrance test in order to switch to the Advanced (Cambridge) program. Students in Grade 10 or higher who wish to switch to the Advanced program must pass the Math and Sciences tests in English in addition to the ESL entrance test.

II. ENROLLMENT AGES:

In the 2024-2025 school year, students in the following age groups will be eligible to enroll at Vinschool:

  • Kindergarten: children born between 2019 and 2022, and between January and June 2023 (at selected campuses);
  • Primary school: students born between 2014 and 2018;
  • Secondary school: students born between 2010 and 2013;
  • High school: students born between 2007 and 2009.

In case a student’s age does not appropriately match the grade or educational stage, Vinschool reserves the right to accept or reject his/her application according to the regulations applicable to Kindergartens and to Primary, Secondary and High schools.

III. CLASS SIZES

Vinschool sets class size limits as follows:

  • Kindergarten: capped at 20-28 students per class, depending on the age group and program;
  • Primary, Secondary and High schools: capped at 25 students per Advanced class and 30 students per Standard class.

In special cases, the regular class size may have a standard deviation of 02 but will not fall below the national standards in order to ensure the best possible conditions for teaching and learning.

IV. ENROLLMENT APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

1. First-time applicants:

  • Applicants must not have infectious diseases, severe congenital anomalies, or special educational needs (since our current care services and facilities are unable to support young students with special needs).
  • Primary applicants must have achieved at least a Pass in both academic performance and personal conduct.
  • Secondary applicants must have completed the Primary curriculum, achieving a Very Good in personal conduct and at least a Good in academic performance throughout their Secondary years and in Term 1 for students who apply for Term 2.
  • High school applicants must have completed the Secondary curriculum, achieving a Very Good in personal conduct and at least a Good in academic performance throughout their Secondary and High school years and in Term 1 for students who apply for Term 2.
  • Students who are foreigners living in Vietnam or Vietnamese people living overseas will be considered for enrollment on a case-by-case basis with respect to the regulations prescribed by the Departments of Education and Training in the cities or provinces where the students register for enrollment.

2. Students formerly enrolled at campuses under Vinschool Education System:

  • Their applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

VI. SCREENING:

All first-time applicants must pass the screening organized by Vinschool. Each student has only one chance per term to succeed.

  • For Kindergarten: the Kindergarten screening aims to record children’s characteristics and abilities for their future homeroom teachers so that appropriate care and education can be provided for their development. Vinschool refuses to accept students who have infectious diseases, severe congenital anomalies or special educational needs as our current care services and facilities are unable to support young students with special needs. The Kindergarten screening at Vinschool takes the form of an interview, which includes direct teacher-student conversations and learning games that are appropriate to children’s age as well as conversations with children’s parents and/or direct caregivers.
  • For Primary, Secondary and High schools: students will be evaluated in the following subjects:
    • Standard program: Math, Vietnamese Language/Literature, ESL, Logical thinking;
    • Advanced program: Math, Vietnamese Language/Literature, ESL (according to the entrance requirements of the Advanced program), Logical thinking. Students who enter Grade 10 must also take Math and Sciences tests in English (these students are exempt from taking the Math test in Vietnamese). Students who enter Grade 11 must take the ESL test as well as Math and Sciences tests in English.Those who apply for other grades may take the Math test either in English or Vietnamese;
    • Students will be directly interviewed by teachers.
  • The screenings for the first grades of each educational stage are in line with the regulations prescribed by Departments of Education & Training.
