One of the brightest faces is Bùi Hồng Hạnh – Vinser class 12A4 Vinschool Times City, who has successfully won nine scholarships from leading universities in art and design in the United States, including a scholarship for Animation worth 80,000 USD (more than 2 billion VND) from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) – the best university in the United States (source Art & Object 2023), ranked above Yale University, Columbia University, UCLA, etc., and a scholarship worth 192,000 USD (about 4.4 billion VND) from Drexel University, USA.

Support from the family and an open learning environment helped Vinser Hồng Hạnh be nurtured while developing her passion for talent.
According to Hồng Hạnh, her family has always supported her, allowing her to freely develop her artistic abilities from a young age. “My mother recognised my talent and chose an environment that both helps me develop my artistic talent and provided good learning opportunities so that I can maximise my ability”, shared Hạnh.
Hồng Hạnh, who has spent the past seven years of her education at Vinschool, has always been appreciative of the perfect learning environment that has provided her with a strong foundation in academics and critical thinking, as well as numerous opportunities to hone her artistic aptitude. In particular, Vinschool has the best resources to support Hồng Hạnh and Vinsers in pursuing their individual passions and strengths. “There are few good art supplies, fully equipped and functional classrooms, like those at Vinschool, in other schools. Throughout my time at the school, I have experimented with a variety of different creative styles and developed crucial painting techniques.”, Hồng Hạnh claimed.
“At Vinschool, I have the chance to share my love of art with my peers, learn about incredibly fascinating perspectives, be inspired, and most importantly, have a conducive environment for the development of ideas.” From a shy and introverted girl, Hồng Hạnh has become an energetic Vice President, and participated in the construction and development of the Illusion Art Club – Vinschool Art Club, organising many art exhibitions, and creating a useful playground in the Vinsers art community. She also played the role of Deputy Editor of Vinschool Magazine – a magazine project compiled and published by Vinsers throughout the system – this position has helped her try design and application, in unique media products.
Global citizenship skills and comprehensive curriculum development – An important factor for Vinsers to gain prestigious scholarships
For a Vinser to be able to develop freely and work to make an impact on the world, global citizenship skills are crucial for winning the prestigious scholarships. By working with CLASS101, a company that creates a platform to produce instructional videos and teaches about well-known Korean contemporary art, Hồng Hạnh has expanded Vinschool’s reputation and passion for painting beyond extracurricular activities at the school and attracted the interest of a lot of international friends. When asked about the circumstances that enabled Hồng Hạnh to successfully apply to so many top universities, she mentioned that the Vinschool study programme had given her several advantages over other international students. With an IELTS score of 8.0 and a SAT score of 1460, Hồng Hạnh has a strong foundation in English, and the ESL curriculum and free IELTS and SAT preparation lessons at the school have helped her develop a more productive attitude and study technique. In addition, Hồng Hạnh used the A-Level certificate to her advantage when she received an A in AP 2D Art & Design in grade 11, which helped her increase the admissions score.
There are many benefits, but much like other Vinsers, Hồng Hạnh also encountered difficulties during the application procedure. Building an excellent and authentic art portfolio was her hardest problem. She thus sought the advice and help of the subject professors and Academic Advisors in order to complete the application. “The teachers were very enthusiastic to share and give useful perspectives to help me discover my potential, see the world deeply and express my impression in my recommendation letter”, Hồng Hạnh expressed.
Plan with clear goals and proper time management – the “Tip” to achieve success in the University application process
“Start everything early, have a proper time management plan and set specific goals.” That is Hồng Hạnh’s advice to the Vinsers who have the ambition to study abroad in the future. By allocating time, making detailed plans, and setting clear objectives, Hồng Hạnh was able to concentrate on enhancing her painting and design skills while aggressively pursuing her goal of conquering the prestigious global Universities of Art and Design.
