During the “Open Day – A Journey to Excellence” held at Vinschool on February 26, parents, primary students and Ms. Bui Thu Thuy, Representative of Vinschool Primary School Management, discussed the topic of “Essential foundation for primary school students in the 21st century”.

At the event, Ms. Thuy mentioned some issues related to the renovation of teaching and learning activities at the primary level at Vinschool:

  1. Empower and guide students to learn actively

When carrying out the primary program at Vinschool, instead of explaining knowledge as in the traditional approach, teachers give Vinsers orientation and support so that they can take the lead in learning and experiential activities. This helps develop their critical thinking, creativity, sense of cooperation and respect for differences, especially when they work on group projects that require exchange, discussion and coordination for solving a given problem.

  1. Access to knowledge through practice and applicability

At Vinschool, the lectures are a combination of theory and practice. Many situations are also created for Vinsers to make hypotheses, reflect, and find answers. Each subject is integrated in experiential activities such as experiments, observation, etc., exciting the students and creating a motivation for them to learn, while at the same time helping them develop their measurement, estimation, judgment and problem-solving skills.

  1. Differentiated teaching

The student-centered teaching method requires teachers to closely monitor and understand their students’ abilities, needs, and interests, thereby designing and organizing the most appropriate activities for each group. The students acquire personalized learning based on their ability while their outcomes are ensured, and their potential and strengths are maximized.

  1. Blended Learning

In order to optimize students’ experiences, Vinschool attaches a lot of importance to the cooperation of parents, teachers and students. In particular, during the online learning process, parents play the role of their children’s “friends”. Not only do they keep an eye on their children’s learning, they also encourage them to be more active in their classes. Meanwhile, the school regularly collects parents’ opinions to reach an agreement on the most suitable educational method for their children. In addition, it organizes many practical seminars on cyber safety, sex education, physical health, etc., helping parents and teachers become the best companions in their children’s growth. The students are also trained to be proactive when participating in learning on the school’s learning management system (LMS), and thus able to self-assess their learning quality based on the criteria set for each activity and task.

  1. Develop lifelong self-learning capacity

The projects and experiential activities carried out at school help form and develop students’ research, self-study and time management skills, which are a solid foundation for lifelong learning ability. Thanks to this, they will gain knowledge about culture and society in an active and natural way, thus improving their confidence, patience, passion for learning, pride in the nation, and readiness for international integration.
