EDURUN “Debut” in Ha Giang: Inauguration of Sang Pa Kindergarten Funded by EDURUN 2022

In early June, the Sang Pa campus of Pho Cao Kindergarten in Dong Van District, Ha Giang Province, was officially inaugurated and commenced operations following nearly five months of construction. The project was funded by the Vinschool Education System through proceeds from the EDURUN 2022 charity run. This marks the 11th school project financed by EDURUN and represents the first of its kind in the northernmost region of Vietnam.

Situated in the mountainous border area of Ha Giang Province, approximately 30 kilometers from Dong Van District, Sang Pa campus faces harsh climatic conditions, including severe winters and frequent water shortages in dry seasons. Many students at the school come from families confronting significant challenges. Originally constructed in 2000, the school had severely deteriorated and was deemed irreparable. Classrooms were inadequate, often necessitating two classes to share a single room. Sanitation facilities were also insufficient, and there were no on-site accommodations for teachers.

This space is both a boarding and educational hub for nearly 150 kindergarten students. Earlier, the outdated infrastructure and inadequate resources here significantly impacted the students’ learning experience, daily activities, and overall well-being.

In 2022, the EDURUN charity run successfully raised 2.2 billion VND through the collective efforts of over 30,000 Vinschool parents, students, teachers, and staff. These combined efforts enabled Vinschool to initiate the construction of this vital school facility.

Since its launch in 2015, the EDURUN charity run, under the motto “Running for Education, Health, and Community,” has raised tens of billions of VND, providing educational opportunities to thousands of children in remote highland areas.

The Sảng Pả Kindergarten boasts a modern and clean design, featuring four classrooms, a private restroom, an administrative office for teachers, a kitchen, and a spacious playground, all meeting essential standards for education and childcare. This project not only ensures a safe and enriching learning environment for ethnic minority children but also enhances the overall educational quality and promotes sustainable development in the mountainous area.

After 5 months of construction, Sang Pa campus has undergone a comprehensive renovation.

The Inauguration Ceremony was attended by local government officials, Vinschool leadership, and parents.

“The newly developed campus ensures our students thrive in a secure, hygienic, and supportive learning environment, crucial during the challenging winter months,” highlighted Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Nham, the Principal of the school. “This transformation significantly enhances their educational experience. From now on, the teachers will have fewer concerns, as the school no longer suffers from the lack of space for educational activities and play areas for the children,” she added.

At the Inauguration Ceremony, Ms. Pham Thi Hang Nga (representing the Vinschool Leadership) and Mr. Ngo Trung Son (representing the Vinschool Parent Committee) presented 20 special gifts to 20 students facing significant challenges.

Mr. Giang Bi Giang, Party Secretary of Pho Cao Commune, Dong Van District, Ha Giang Province, highlighted that the new campus constructed by Vinschool is the most thoroughly invested and expansive educational facility in the commune during his tenure. He emphasized that teachers can now work with confidence, parents can send their children to school with assurance, and students are eager to learn in such a secure and joyful environment.

This event marks another significant milestone in Vinschool’s ongoing journey of community service through charitable initiatives. It exemplifies the unwavering dedication and relentless efforts of the Vinschool community. We extend our deepest gratitude to the parents, students, teachers, staff, and sponsors for their collective contributions to this noble mission. Through EDURUN, we have helped nurture the dreams of students in Ha Giang, opening doors to knowledge for thousands of children in the mountainous region.
