Exploring natural science with Grade 1 Vinsers: Understanding the structure and functions of teeth
Why do we have different types of teeth? Why are incisors small and sharp, while molars are big and wide? Grade 1 Vinsers had the opportunity to explore the structure and functions of teeth through visual models and engaging hands-on activities.
Under the guidance of their teachers, students observed images and tooth models to identify the three main types of teeth: incisors, canines, and molars. The Vinsers quickly discovered that each type of tooth has a distinct shape and function, helping them gain a clearer understanding of oral health and ways to protect their teeth. They also learned about proper tooth-brushing habits, the role of food in maintaining dental health, and the importance of regular dental check-ups. These practical lessons helped students realize that good oral care is essential for maintaining a healthy, bright smile in the future.
Tran Gia Linh from class 1A1 happily shared: “I really liked this lesson because I learned that my incisors are like small scissors that cut food. I will remind my whole family to brush their teeth properly so we don’t get cavities!”
The lesson not only expanded the Vinsers’ scientific knowledge but also helped them develop positive habits for caring for their oral health. Let’s look forward to many more exciting learning activities with our Vinsers ahead!
