EVENT: CAREER BITES #1 – FOCUS ON FINANCE, ACCOUNTING, AND ACCA CERTIFICATION
In the context of an increasingly dynamic and competitive labor market, equipping students with essential knowledge about various professions is crucial.
Career orientation helps students establish a clear academic pathway, gain confidence in their choices, and have a competitive advantage in the job market. This approach minimizes the risks of pursuing unsuitable fields and unemployment. When students can choose careers they are passionate about, they will proactively research and explore their interests rather than solely focusing on obtaining a degree.
When considering career paths, students should identify several key factors:
- Interests and passions
- Personality traits
- Abilities
- Market demand
Recognizing this importance, the school has introduced a series of career orientation events, including six industry-focused sessions for the 2024-2025 academic year, aimed at providing students with knowledge and insights into the professions they are interested in.
In this spirit, on September 13, 2024, the Career Bites #1 event, focusing on finance, accounting, and the ACCA certificate, was organized by the school in collaboration with ACCA Global. The goal was to enhance students’ understanding of the finance sector and the requirements for those wishing to pursue and develop careers in this field.
During the event, students had the opportunity to learn more about the below activities:
- Learn about the finance and accounting industry, including insights into career orientation, new job roles, and necessary skills for development in the finance and accounting sectors.
- Participate in “Let’s Have Fun with Finance”: a session discussing fundamental topics on the evolution of money and banking systems, led by experienced ACCA members.
- Discover the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) certificate, an internationally recognized accounting qualification that trains students in areas such as financial accounting, management, taxation, and auditing, helping them develop the essential skills needed for careers in finance.
- Explore the ACCA Futurist scholarship: This scholarship supports students in pursuing the ACCA certification by providing financial assistance for tuition and related costs, targeting those with outstanding academic achievements and potential in the finance field.
