The Mid-Autumn Festival spirit has filled the streets, and at Vinschool Metropolis Kindergarten, the little ones are excitedly preparing for this reunion holiday.

Recently, the school lobby has been adorned with vibrant colors from hundreds of small lanterns meticulously crafted by the children themselves. Each lantern bears a unique color and shape, showcasing the creativity and skill of each child.

The children eagerly prepare together for the Mid-Autumn Festival

Parents have been actively involved in the school’s activities as well. They’ve helped their children prepare bountiful fruit trays and shared folktales about Cuoi and Hang Nga, encouraging the kids to sing, dance, tell stories, and recite poems – all familiar elements of the Mid-Autumn Festival. This parental involvement not only creates a warm family atmosphere but also helps the children better understand the significance of the festival.

The children are excited to see their parents transform into “Chị Hằng” and “Chú Cuội”

Amidst the joyful atmosphere, the children haven’t forgotten about their less fortunate peers. Instead of hosting lavish parties, they’ve engaged in discussions and come up with ideas for small acts of kindness to support children and residents in flood-affected areas. Suggestions ranged from “My family has two houses, I’ll give one to the other kids” and “Mom, can you give me money to build a school for them?” to more practical ideas like “I’ll give them my toys.” These heartwarming exchanges took place in a loving classroom environment.

The little ones come up with ideas to help those in difficult circumstances in flood-stricken areas

Building on these ideas, parents and teachers joined forces to turn the young Vinsers’ thoughts into meaningful actions. Hundreds of gifts, including essential goods, school supplies, and teaching equipment, were collected from students, parents, teachers, and donors. These were then delivered to five kindergartens and 181 households in flood-affected areas of Ha Hoa district in Phu Tho province and Luc Yen district in Yen Bai province. The hope is that these small gifts from the Vinsers will help the children and residents in flood-stricken areas overcome their difficulties.

Teachers and parents on a journey to spread love

The seeds of compassion have sprouted from these small thoughts and actions. The lessons of love and sharing that the children have learned will stay with them throughout their lives. We hope that they will always preserve and promote these beautiful values.
