Vinsers led School Opening Ceremony with confidence

Vinschool students have had an impressive School Opening Ceremony of the school year 2017-2018, which was led by the students themselves. Vinsers displayed their leadership skills throughout the ceremony, from putting together the ceremony, being MCs in English and Vietnamese, choreographing the acts, and performing on stage. That is in alignment with this school year’s theme – “Vinsers of the 21st century – Ready to build the future”

With the theme “Vinsers of the 21st century – Ready to build the future”, the school year 2017 – 2018 serves as an important milestone when Vinschool officially implements the Cambridge program and incorporates the 21st Century Skills program into the curriculum. This is an affirmation of Vinschool’s commitment to educating the next generation of Vietnamese that has the knowledge, personal qualities and competencies.

Students get to the school very early and are warmly welcomed by their teachers at the school gate.

Teachers give students greeting cards that remind them of the 5 Vinsers’ core values: Inquisitiveness – Proactiveness – Integrity – Caring – Respect

Vinsers’ core values, including Inquisitiveness – Proactiveness – Integrity – Caring – Respect, are embedded in the Circle Painting, painted by thousands of Vinschool students as a statement of strong determination for the new school year.

The Ceremony was led by Vinschool students in Vietnamese and English. In the school year 2017 – 2018, Vinschool officially launches the Cambridge International Bilingual program, which lays foundation for students who wish to study at universities around the world.

After the flag salutation ceremony, thousands of students sang the national anthem together..

In his speech, Mr Phan Anh – Principal of Vinschool Middle school – emphasized: “I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to all teachers and parents for choosing Vinschool.”

Even though teachers and parents have very different roles, we understand that we have one common goal: To create the best learning environment for our children. To achieve that goal, for teachers, it is lifelong learning, continuous effort to cultivate knowledge and skills, as well as the right mindset; it is also the dedication and commitment to your daily work. For parents, it is the trust in the school and collaboration with the school in all activities. From another point of view, parents are also learning every day to change their thinking and become familiar with new teaching/learning methods to raise their children better. All of that makes me believe that, with the theme of the school year 2017 – 2018: “Vinsers in the 21st century,” at this campus, we will proudly have “Students in the 21st century – Teachers in the 21st century – Parents in the 21st century.”

After Ms.Thuy Anh – Principal of Vinschool High school beat the drum to inaugurate the new school year, Luong Thuy Linh –from class 12DH1, President of the Student Council, representing tens of thousands of Vinschool students, shared her thoughts on the qualities of students in the 21st century. “Human beings will not find life to be as interesting and worthwhile if everything comes too easily and challenges are not around. As the 21st century progresses and pressure is also on the rise, I think, we need to be stronger through adversity and learn after each failure”.

All shows are choreographed and performed by Vinsers themselves to showcase the school’s core values.

The “21st Century Symphony”, a performance that combined both classical and modern instruments such as the Trumpet, Baritone, Saxophone, Drum and Cymbal together, impressed the audience.

After the opening ceremony, all students set their own goals for the school year and began the first lessons.

Vinschool is an K-12 education system sponsored and developed by Vingroup. As of this school year, Vinschool is the second home to nearly 20.000 students.

 With the goal to become a world-class Vietnamese school, Vinschool has actively sought for international partners to bring the most up-to-date educational programs to its students. After the successful implementation of the International Preschool Curriculum IPC from the US, starting the 2017-2018 school year, Vinschool officially launches the Cambridge International Bilingual Program for students from grade 1 to grade 8. The program is taught by a team of experienced and qualified teachers. In this school year, Vinschool also became the first and only institution in Vietnam to integrate the “21st Century skills” program into its curriculum. The school also published a bilingual textbook (English and Vietnamese) of 21st century skills exclusively for its students and teachers.
