In January and April 2021, Vinschool’s charity group, comprised of the School Management Board and parent representatives, travelled to Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Thua Thien-Hue, the 04 Central provinces hardest hit by the floods in October 2020, to present donations and scholarships worth VND3.4 billion to local schools and students.

In October 2020, continuous floods hit Central Vietnam, causing houses and schools to be submerged in water. As the hardest-hit provinces, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Thua Thien-Hue could not help preventing long interruptions in local students’ learning. At that time, without hesitation, Vinschool launched the “Dress for Donations” campaign across the entire school system. VND3.4 billion was raised after only 4 days to help students in the Central region to help restore their homes and continue their schooling. This campaign clearly demonstrated one of Vinsers’ core values – “Caring”.

After conducting surveys on the damages and the needs of each school, apart from giving cash donations to students from affected households, Vinschool also presented many classroom equipment of long-term value such as desks and chairs, lockers, water purifiers, desktop computers, printers, televisions, books, etc. to 30 schools in Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Thua Thien-Hue.

Vinschool representatives handed cash donations to students at Tan Ninh Secondary school (Quang Ninh district, Quang Binh province).
Students at Hong Ha Primary school (A Luoi district, Thua Thien-Hue province) received scholarships from Vinschool Managers and parent representatives.
Many useful objects such as lockers, water purifiers, televisions, printers, desktop computers, etc. were directly presented to schools.

Mr. Hoang Trong Nho, Principal of Tran Hung Dao Secondary school (A Luoi district, Thua Thien-Hue province), shared: “The historic floods last October damaged all of our computers. Before Vinschool’s support arrived, three students had to share a computer. Now each has one; their learning conditions are much better”.

New computers help students learn ICT better.

Mr. Tran Huu Khuong, Principal of Cam Tuyen Primary and Secondary school (Quang Tri province), was deeply touched: “I’m very thankful to the Vinschool Education System and benefactors for being very kind to us. Your care and support will have positive impacts on our education and training and motivate our students to strive for academic success despite their poverty”.

Hoang Nhat Tan, a student from Class 9A, Cam Tuyen Primary, and Secondary school, was overwhelmed with gratitude: “I highly appreciate the cash donation given to me and will spend it on clothes and school supplies. I promise that I will try harder to achieve higher academic results”.

Smiles were seen on the faces of students at Cam Tuyen Primary and Secondary school (Cam Lo district, Quang Tri province) as they received cash donations from Vinschool.
New televisions help teachers at Gio Mai Primary and Secondary school (Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province) deliver more engaging lessons.

Mr. Dao Manh Hung, Head of the Quang Tri Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, expressed appreciation to the Vinschool Education System for helping local schools address their difficulties and ensure effective teaching and learning, and for providing disadvantaged students with better learning conditions.

All cash and in-kind donations, worth over VND208 million, were handed to representatives of schools in Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province.

In return, Mr. Hung presented the “Heart of Gold” Certificate of Appreciation to Vinschool Education System for offering practical help to the local schools and students heavily affected by floods.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong Giang, the parent of a student from Class 4B1, Vinschool The Harmony Primary school, one of those who joined Vinschool’s charitable trip to the Central region, said: “I’m very happy that my daughter was taught to do good deeds right in her early years at Vinschool. She is going to finish Primary school soon. The older she gets, the more she cares about others. She is always inclined to do kind acts. I’m glad that she is studying in such a compassionate environment”.

With their loving hearts, people have generated significant help to these communities despite their small individual contributions. We’d like to send our sincere thanks to Vinschool parents, students, teachers, and staff for being really supportive of the “Dress for Donations” campaign.
