“As time goes by, people grow older

When spring comes, every family is blessed”

Vinsers had many chances to celebrate the Lunar New Year of 2023 via the 2023 Spring Festival held in the final weeks of the Year of the Tiger, with activities ranging from  writing books about Tet culture to designing a booth at a Tet fair, performing a traditional áo dài (traditional Vietnamese dress) fashion show designed by themselves, writing parallel sentences in calligraphy, making toys, making “bánh chưng” (sticky rice cakes), and playing folk games.

Visiting each campus within the Vinschool education system these days, parents and students can clearly feel the spring atmosphere in every corner. All the parents, teachers and Vinsers’ eyes are filled with excitement and joy when they immerse themselves in the traditional Tet atmosphere.

The new year is just around the corner. Let us feel the bustling spring air through the following images, available only at Vinschool.

Each Vinschool campus has its own unique spring theme with various activities, creating the experiences and atmosphere not easily found in modern Tet days

Right before the Spring Festival, Vinsers have the opportunity to participate in activities to liven the Tet atmosphere such as reading books, making toys under the theme “Kitten’s New Year”, writing books on “Lunar New Year Celebrations Around the World”, and decorating classrooms with traditional Tet style

The students also participate in writing the book “The Culture of Tet Celebration Worldwide” to understand more about the value and beauty of not only the Lunar New Year in Vietnam but also around the world

The Spring Festival is an opportunity for teachers to share the beauty of the traditional Lunar New Year with their students through new ways of learning such as “Golden Bell Challenge” or trivias with rewards right at the students’ activity booths

One of the main activities of the Spring Festival is a cultural stall prepared by each class with handmade items for sale to contribute to charitable projects in the new year. This meaningful activity is aimed at teaching children how to give love and spread positive values to the community.

The spring in the three regions has been revitalized in a unique, elaborate and creative way right in the yard of Vinschool, creating a unique Tet market

The áo dài contest attracts a lot of attention from parents as it is a chance for them to see their children design beautiful dresses inspired by unique spring flower patterns

Asking for calligraphy words at the beginning of the year is aimed at expressing not only ideas but also the feelings of the Vietnamese people welcoming the new year. The calligraphy competition at Vinschool recalls the past with images of little calligraphers in traditional outfits. With brushes and ink slabs, they passionately write their first handwritten calligraphic works and parallel sentences on red paper

Every year, Vinsers surprise their teachers and parents as they transform into characters in traditional costumes to sing and dance amidst the jubilant spring atmosphere. The singing and dancing performances showcase the youth’s gratitude towards their ancestors’ efforts to preserve their heritage

The Spring Festival will be incomplete without a culinary corner featuring such activities as making “bánh chưng”, decorating a five-fruit offering tray, making spring rolls and setting up miniatures symbolizing the traditional Tet with apricot trees and peach trees. On these trees, red envelopes and good wishes are hung, enabling the students to relive the traditions

The atmosphere of the Spring Festival becomes more vibrant than ever with such folk games as playing the drum blindfolded, making toy figurines, walking on stilts, throwing “con”. These are the closest and most vivid introductions of Vietnamese culture to the students

The feelings about Tet are deep and unforgettable with the presence of parents in this journey back to the past. Making “bánh chưng”, writing words in calligraphy, and walking in the traditional spring market helps bring parents closer to their children and get a better insight into the cultural and humane values that Vinschool is making efforts to build every day for its students

Meaningful programs such as the Spring Festival and New Year celebration at Vinschool are valuable opportunities and a link between the modern and the past, so that the children can understand, appreciate and be proud of the traditional Vietnamese culture

The 2023 Lunar New Year is fast approaching. Vinschool hopes to open up a new school year with lots of joy, experiences and success for Vinsers
