Semester one wellbeing workshops: Vinsers make a mark with thirteen practical workshops on the topic of school psychology

Monday, 08/01/2024, 15:01 (GMT+7)

The most current and relevant topics related to school psychology were lively discussed by Vinsers at the Wellbeing Workshops during the first semester.

Thirteen workshops led by Vinsers were organized in both Primary and Secondary schools. These workshops covered a variety of important topics such as: maintaining parent-child connections, fostering healthy friendships, caring for emotional health during exams, recognizing and building personal identity and confidence, asserting personal values, and more. These workshops attracted the participation of numerous students, parents, and teachers from ten Vinschool campuses. The workshops provided high-quality forums on school psychology, giving attendees a comprehensive view of mental health while also helping participants form and build emotional resilience.

Furthermore, the workshops provided an opportunity for Vinsers to actively participate in organizing and leading events while honing important skills such as planning, event organization, research, scientific communication, public speaking, teamwork, and stress management in front of an audience. Võ Thị Khánh, an 11th grade Vinser, shared: “My favorite was the ‘Identity Craft’ workshop on ‘Building Personal Identity.’ After the workshop, I understood more about my personal identity, experienced a DIY activity on a vision board, and defined my short and long-term goals.”

In order to continue to improve psychological care for students during the second semester, the Vinser-led BeWell project will introduce many new and outstanding topics focusing on teaching mental health care skills to promote and create opportunities for students to develop problem-solving, communication, relationship-building, and emotional recovery skills.

Implemented since the 2021-2022 school year, the BEWELL project, led by Vinsers and supported by the School Psychology Office (SPO), has directly contributed to raising awareness of mental health issues for students while also supporting activities for improved mental health care for students across the system. In the school year 2023 – 2024, the BEWELL project continues to focus on four aspects of mental health: Cognitive Wellbeing, Social Wellbeing, Emotional Wellbeing, and Physical Wellbeing.
