Warning Regarding Unsafe Social Media Challenges
Dear Homeroom Teachers and Parents,
Through monitoring students’ activities on social media, the school has recently discovered that some students have been participating in the “Ice Bucket Challenge” and posting videos of themselves doing so publicly online. This behavior may stem from curiosity, a sense of fun, or a desire for attention — traits commonly observed at their age.
However, the school recognizes that such activities carry potential health risks (especially under bad weather conditions) and may also open the door to more dangerous trends if students are not guided properly. The tendency to copy risky behaviors from social media, driven by the desire to follow trends or attract attention, is a concerning issue in today’s digital era.
Therefore, the school respectfully requests the cooperation of all teachers and parents in:
- Strengthening students’ education on social media awareness, particularly in developing the ability to filter information and avoid imitating risky or inappropriate behaviors.
- Engaging in open conversations with the students to better understand their interests, idols, and the trends they are following, in order to provide timely and suitable guidance.
- Informing and updating the school if any inappropriate participation or content sharing is detected.
The school will also organize sessions to educate students on safe and healthy use of social media. We sincerely hope to receive continued support and collaboration from parents and teachers in building a safe and positive school environment for our students.
