Grade 3’s Ecopark Field Trip
Stepping away from theoretical lessons in books, the Grade 3 Vinsers of Vinschool Metropolis had a meaningful day of exploration at Ecopark, a “green paradise,” where they not only observed but also directly participated in hands-on activities to learn and connect with nature. During their visit, the students gained insights into:
? Biodiversity: Exploring the richness of the “golden forest, silver sea” by observing and classifying animals and plants, they learned about the importance of biodiversity in nature.
? Adaptation in Nature: Through the “Agents of G.R.E.E.N” games, the students took on the role of “super beasts” to discover how animals adapt to their environments and contribute to ecological balance.
? The Role of Greenery: By learning about the “life cycle of a tree” from seed to full-grown tree, the students gained a deeper understanding of how trees contribute to sustaining life on Earth.
? Protecting Insects: When designing “insect hotels,” the students learned about the importance of insects in nature and how to create shelters to protect them, thus promoting biodiversity conservation.
Skill Development and Responsibility Building:
? Research Skills: The “Green Forest Treasure” activity honed students’ skills in gathering information and conducting field research.
? Real-life Interaction: Direct interaction with insects, birds, amphibians, and reptiles enabled students to easily identify animal species, understand their roles in the ecosystem, and nurture a love for nature.
This experiential journey not only provided rich, real-world knowledge but also inspired the students to become “green ambassadors” – protecting and preserving our planet. Learning through experience not only helps them gain a deeper understanding of the environment but also plants the seeds of responsibility for nature in their journey of growth!
