Vinsers from Primary Starters discovered the secret of even and odd numbers.

Vinsers from Primary Starters explored the even and odd numbers by arranging objects into pairs and placing them in a 10-box frame during Maths lesson. They realized that objects that can be paired are even numbers, and objects that have one extra when being paired are odd numbers.

The activity of arranging objects helped students recognize the difference between even and odd numbers and supported them in practicing their skills, such as:

  • Logical thinking and observation – Vinsers recognized the even and odd rules through arranging objects into pairs and placing them in a 10-box frame.
  • Communication & expression – Vinsers confidently explained whether a number is even or odd.
  • Issue-solving skill – Vinsers found the way to arrange the remaining objects into pairs.
  • Persistence and confidence – Vinsers tried various pairing ways, were not afraid to make mistakes, and expressed their ideas.
  • Vinsers practiced their cooperation and coordinated with their friends when arranging objects into pairs or into 10-box frames.

Through this lesson, Vinsers gained a clear understanding of even and odd numbers and how to apply them in real life—for example, taking the right number of chopsticks at mealtimes or arranging toys in pairs or boxes to easily observe and manage quantities while playing. This makes Math knowledge more practical, useful, and connected to children’s everyday experiences.
