DEVELOPING MATHEMATICAL THINKING THROUGH COLOR DISCOVERY WITH VEGA CLASS
During the Mathematics session, students of the Vega block engaged in a lively experiential activity titled “The Color Race.” This session was designed to help children recognize colors, classify items, count quantities, and match numbers through physical activities, embodying the philosophy of “Play-based learning.”
The lesson began with a review of three primary colors: Red, Yellow, and Blue, using a familiar song to create a fun atmosphere and aid natural retention.
Subsequently, the students participated in a race to locate and categorize objects based on color. This activity not only reinforced color recognition but also honed their physical agility, reaction speed to instructions, and observational focus.

In the second phase, the children practiced counting objects and matching them to numbers ranging from 1 to 5. Through this game, counting skills were consolidated naturally. Furthermore, the students learned the value of teamwork, discussion, and mutual support to achieve their goals.
Key developmental outcomes from the lesson include:
- Recognition and naming of basic colors.
- Classification of objects by color.
- Physical agility and flexibility.
- Counting and number matching (1–5).
- Confidence in teamwork and social interaction.

We invite parents to view the memorable and energetic moments from today’s “Color Race”!
