Recently, students from the Explore Summer and Cambridge Immersion camps at Vinschool Smart City Primary School embarked on an exciting field trip to the Ban Rom Ecological Tourism Area. The excursion offered Vinsers a wonderful opportunity to build resilience, acquire essential life skills, and learn to adapt to the natural environment.

During the “Survival Skills” challenge series, the young learners engaged in highly practical lessons. Through archery, students practiced focus and precision while channeling their hand strength. In the fire-making session, they were guided on how to use flint steel on flammable materials such as cotton and dry leaves, a process that fostered patience and caution. Furthermore, physical agility and stamina were enhanced as each student successfully conquered the obstacle course.

In addition, Vinsers explored the natural ecosystem at the educational farm. Hand-feeding sheep, goats, and rabbits allowed the children to identify different animal characteristics while nurturing their compassion for wildlife. Activities like catching fish in the pond and splashing around in the water play area provided well-deserved moments of relaxation and vibrant bonding.

In the afternoon, the students transitioned to a hands-on workshop making traditional “banh troi nuoc” (floating rice cakes). Delighted to mold the round cakes with their own hands, they developed fine motor skills while gaining a deeper appreciation for the beauty of folk culinary traditions.

The experiential trip to Ban Rom officially concluded Journey 1 with practical takeaways on survival skills, independence, and adaptability. These meaningful experiences will serve as valuable stepping stones, empowering Vinsers to confidently explore and conquer new horizons in the upcoming Journey 2.
