Visual Arts is an artistic subject within the field of Personal Development. Through its unique mode of expression via an aesthetic lens, Visual Arts helps students expand their observation skills, imagination, visual creation abilities, and understanding of cultural and spiritual values. From there, Vinsers explore the world of forms and shapes, encoding emotions and ideas into vibrant visual language—building a strong aesthetic foundation and creating meaningful values for themselves and the community.

Let’s step into the “art studio” of Grade 4 Vinsers with the theme “Basic Book Cover Design.” In this theme, each activity is designed to help students learn, experience, and discover new personal capabilities at the same time:

  • Observing and analyzing book covers:
Students identify the basic elements of a book cover and practice comparing and evaluating designs to draw conclusions about principles of arranging images and text to effectively convey content.

  • Sketching ideas:
After selecting a topic, Vinsers activate their visual thinking skills to arrange layouts and coordinate colors, highlighting the spirit of the work.

  • Design practice:
This stage provides opportunities for students to develop aesthetic sensibility and creativity by practicing drawing, coloring, typography design, and completing the overall composition.

  • Exhibition and sharing:
When presenting their products, Vinsers demonstrate presentation and critical-thinking skills, while also learning to listen to feedback, make adjustments, and refine their artworks.

The theme “Basic Book Cover Design” not only sparks creativity and the ability to tell stories through images, but also nurtures a love of reading and spreads the values of reading culture. Each artwork, brought to life from students’ imagination, is not merely a learning product—it is a personal signature of every Vinser.
