Percentage ratio – 5A2
Class 5A2 had an exciting math lesson on the topic of “Percentage Ratios” (lesson 2+3). Right from the start, the classroom atmosphere became lively with a review activity where students raised answer boards to respond to questions. The students quickly converted fractions into percentages and confidently stood up to share their methods.
In the main content of the lesson, student Minh Anh gave an excellent presentation on how to find a% of X (where a is a multiple of 10) — a result of her self-study at home, presented to the class in the form of a mind map. Following Minh Anh’s presentation, Ms. Thu Huong summarized the knowledge and provided two additional methods for calculating a% of X in an easy-to-understand way.
The students then practiced exercises, and notably, they used three types of cards—“Completed,” “Assistance,” and “Expert”—to report their results to the teacher. These cards not only boosted the students’ confidence but also encouraged a spirit of exchange and peer review. Ms. Thu Huong helped them analyze mistakes and encouraged critical thinking, guiding students to identify inaccuracies and then explain corrections through an improved approach.
At the end of the lesson, the whole class enthusiastically participated in a Bingo game to reinforce their knowledge. The students selected numbers on their Bingo cards and then calculated the percentages to earn points. Cheers filled the room as someone won Bingo! With Ms. Thu Huong’s guidance and her creative teaching methods, the lesson not only helped students grasp the material but also created an incredibly positive and enjoyable learning environment!
