At Vinschool Imperia Primary, a love for reading is nurtured consistently through a wide range of engaging and creative activities—from vibrant Book Weeks and monthly book talks with interactive mini games to story writing projects and parent–child reading time.

To make reading culture more relatable and vivid, the school library organized a learning activity featuring film adaptations of literary works. Through this approach, students are encouraged to develop analytical, evaluative, and critical thinking skills, allowing a natural and lasting love for books to take root.

In their experiential exploration of The Call of the Wild by Jack London, students compared and contrasted details between the original text and its film adaptation to identify differences in storytelling, plot development, and character portrayal through cinematic language versus literary language. Vinsers wrote reflective responses, joined group discussions, and confidently presented their viewpoints in front of the class—thereby strengthening language skills and expressive confidence.

By connecting literature with cinema, the activity not only deepened students’ appreciation of humanistic values but also offered rich emotional experiences. It helped create lively, meaningful, and inspiring reading sessions, gradually fostering reading habits among students and contributing to the development of a strong reading culture within the school.
