On October 29, Grade 1 Vinsers from Vinschool Smart City Primary School enjoyed their first experiential learning trip of the school year at the Vietnam Forest Resources Museum – a research and exhibition center dedicated to collecting, preserving, and showcasing specimens and documents related to forest resources and Vietnam’s biodiversity.

The museum’s spacious grounds immediately captured the students’ attention. Throughout the visit, they explored a variety of meaningful activities that deepened their understanding of Vietnam’s natural world and the habitats of many animal and plant species.

During the experience, students had the chance to listen to educators introduce the Vietnam Forest Resources Museum, explore specimen galleries, the botanical room, the plant garden, and the ecology room, learn about forest ecosystems, animal species, and rare plant species, watch a documentary about the extinction of the one-horned rhinoceros and reflect on the importance of wildlife conservation. Additionally, students created pressed-leaf specimens, made animal life-cycle diagrams.

Through these activities, students learned about biodiversity, compared different habitats of plants and animals, and described the living environment of a chosen species. They also expanded their vocabulary and practiced forming complete sentences aligned with lesson themes.

The field trip to the Forest Resources Museum inspired Grade 1 Vinsers to learn from nature, cultivating curiosity and nurturing scientific thinking as they explore the world around them.
