DISCOVERING NATURE – A JOURNEY TO LOVE TREES
Outdoor activities are always the most anticipated time for children. Because there, every leaf, every wind, or every bird call becomes a miracle that makes children’s eyes light up with excitement. This week, the children’s “Discovering Nature” journey at Vinschool brings three memorable experiences: Discovering perennial trees – How old are trees – Planting trees
🌳 Discovering perennial trees
The large, rough tree trunks, the rough brown bark, the sturdy, tall tree trunks… all arouse curiosity in children. When placing their small hands on the tree trunk, children seem to be touching the long stories of time. From the swirling wood grain, the children are led by the teacher to understand the benefits of trees: providing shade, providing fresh air, and being a “home” for all kinds of birds and animals. Love for nature and awareness of environmental protection gradually sprouted in children’s souls from such close experiences.
🌟 How old is a tree?
The question “How old is a tree?” led the children to a surprising discovery. When counting the tree rings together, the children exclaimed:
“The tree is so small but has 18 rings!”, “So the tree out there must have 100 rings!”.
That surprise helped the children understand that it takes many years to have a sturdy tree trunk. The awareness of protecting and preserving trees gradually grew in the children’s souls: “If all the trees were cut down, people would not be able to breathe!”. So what do we need to do to have more trees? “We have to plant trees, teacher!” The children’s answers were extremely lovely.
🌱 Planting trees together
After learning about the benefits of trees, the children were able to plant new life themselves. The small, pretty pots decorated by the children themselves become “homes” for the young plants. Each step – digging the soil, placing the seedlings, and watering the first drops of water – is carried out by the children with passion and care. Behind that excitement is pride: “This is the tree I planted!”. A small pot of plants, but it carries within it the care and responsibility of children.
✨ Preserving childhood memories
Every experience with nature is not simply a lesson about green trees or animals, but also pure, sweet childhood memories. At Vinschool, children learn to love nature, cherish life and nurture a pure, kind soul.
The “Nature Discovery” activity has ended, but its echoes will certainly linger for a long time – in the crisp laughter, bright eyes and love of green life of today’s young plants.
