“Celebrate a Green Tet – A Peaceful Spring” Vinschool Smart City Secondary School Spring Festival 2025 – Preserving and Promoting National Traditions

The vibrant atmosphere of Tet, both past and present, was beautifully brought to life at Vinschool Smart City Secondary School during the Spring Festival 2025 under the theme “Celebrate a Green Tet – A Peaceful Spring,” held on January 18.
The event offered a meaningful cultural journey with engaging activities that warmly welcomed the enthusiastic participation of students and parents. This festival not only nurtures traditional values but also spreads the message of a green, peaceful, and loving spring.

The festival began with lively performances by the Papillon and Vinstorm clubs, followed by the finals of the Calligraphy Competition, honoring the beauty of traditional culture through the art of calligraphy.
Despite being born in the digital era, many Vinsers embraced their roots, learning and practicing calligraphy to compete. From nearly 100 participants, 30 finalists showcased their exceptional skills.

The Banh Chung Wrapping and Rice Cooking contests were among the most eagerly anticipated activities. These weren’t just competitions for students and parents but also included grandparents, fostering connections across generations.
This year’s Banh Chung Wrapping contest saw participation from 66 pairs representing 66 classes. Wearing traditional ao dai, participants sat on woven mats, recreating the idyllic image of Vietnamese village life. Their carefully crafted and beautifully decorated Banh Chung exemplified the flavors of Tet and cherished cultural values.

The Rice Cooking Competition began with lively cheers and clouds of smoke as teams started their fires. In just 20 minutes, they cooked fragrant, sticky rice pots. Many teams went the extra mile by recreating traditional Tet meals, featuring dishes like rice, boiled pork, braised pork, and spring rolls, evoking the warmth and flavor of Tet at home.

Besides traditional activities, parents and students enjoyed folk games like bamboo walking, tug-of-war, wrestling, and shuttlecock throwing.
A highlight was the friendly football match between male teachers, staff, and parents, which thrilled the audience with exciting plays and ended in a dramatic 3-3 draw.

The evening Gala Show was an unforgettable experience. The opening performance, “The Essence of Hanoi Tet”, captivated the audience with its grandeur and artistry, featuring 60 students. Combining traditional dance, music, and vibrant scenes, the performance celebrated Vietnamese cultural traditions and evoked pride in the customs of our ancestors.

The Ao Dai Contest: Elegance of Spring showcased the beauty of traditional attire. Students, parents, and teachers elegantly modeled ao dai made from eco-friendly materials, emphasizing harmony between cultural preservation and environmental awareness for a sustainable future.

The most highly anticipated part for Vinser students and parents was the final round of the “Talent Show Competition”. The explosive and professional performances not only energized the atmosphere of the Spring Festival stage but also touched the hearts of the enthusiastic audience.
The finalists’ performances were meticulously choreographed and rehearsed, ensuring precision and flawless execution on stage. In particular, the careful attention to costumes and props contributed to creating stunning, impressive performances that left a lasting impression on the audience.

The Charity Art Auction added a meaningful touch to the event. Eight stunning artworks from the “Spring Colors” exhibition were auctioned, with parents enthusiastically bidding to support a good cause. A standout piece, “Spring Lotus” by Le Gia Linh from 9A4, fetched a remarkable 36 million VND. The auction raised a total of 170 million VND, a testament to the community’s generosity and support for future philanthropic projects.

The festival concluded with a dazzling fireworks display, filling the air with joy and warmth. The smiles and excitement of students, parents, and teachers marked the resounding success of the Spring Festival 2025, leaving everyone with cherished memories and hopes for a year filled with health and peace.
