Announcement Re: Christmas Holiday for Advanced Program Teachers

Dear Advanced Program Parents,

As important as the Lunar New Year is in Vietnam, the Christmas holiday is an essential part of Western culture for foreign teachers. According to the Vinschool Education Plan 2018 – 2019, foreign teachers who teach the Advanced program will take a Christmas holiday from December 24, 2018 to January 01, 2019. This is a traditional time for them to visit with family and friends and welcome Christmas and the New Year of 2019.

The Cambridge teachers’ Christmas break was planned from the beginning of the school year; therefore, the Cambridge study program for students has been arranged to ensure the program schedule would be well met.

At this time, students have also completed the First Semester exams and are entering the second semester. Detailed plans for students are as follows:

From December 24 to December 27, 2018: Students in the Advanced Program study the subjects as prescribed by Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training according to the timetable. As for Cambridge classes, students will participate in project activities, research, and experiences at school to reinforce skills learned in class. Activities throughout the 4 days are designed based on the 4 topics:

✔ X-Mas Day around the world: Students learn about Culture, Cuisine, and Costumes of Christmas holidays of different countries around the world.

✔ Engineering Day: Students are instructed to assemble, shape, and design models of machines, engines, houses, etc.

✔ Art & Fashion Day: Students hone their creativity with the Fine Arts program with the theme “Noel in my eyes”, making Christmas cards for parents and relatives, designing fashion parties, etc.

✔ Sports Day: Students participate in group sports activities.

On December 28, 2018 and December 31, 2018, students are on their semester break as stated in the school year timetable. On January 1, 2019, students are off for Tet holiday. Students return to school on January 2, 2019.
