The Vin OCP HSRL 01 team, consisting of three Vinsers from Vinschool Ocean Park (OCP), has excellently secured second place at the ROBOTACON WRO VIETNAM 2023 competition and earned the right to represent Vietnam at the World Finals of ROBOTACON WRO. This prestigious and large-scale global robotics competition for youth aged 6 to 19 will take place in Panama in November.

The members of the Vin OCP HSRL 01 team are Đỗ Hoàng Anh, a 6A8 student from OCP Middle School; Phạm Công Minh, a 4A9 student from OCP Primary School; and Đỗ Hoàng Minh, a 4A3 student from OCP Primary School. Under the guidance of teacher Nguyễn Công Quyền, a teacher at OCP Middle School, they demonstrated exceptional skills and resilience while competing against 32 of the top teams nationwide. Their theme, “Marine Life Conservation,” required them to conquer challenging tasks related to robot design, programming, logical thinking, teamwork, problem-solving, and social awareness.

This achievement is a worthy testament to the efforts of both teachers and students at Vinschool Ocean Park in STEM education, one of the school’s key focus areas. Through various extracurricular and curricular activities, Vinsers are equipped with knowledge and skills related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. These activities help develop creative thinking and foster 21st-century skills such as communication, collaboration, critical thinking, problem-solving, and innovation.

STEM education is one of the key focus areas of Vinschool.

This year’s competition marks the first time Vinschool Ocean Park students have participated in ROBOTACON WRO, where science enthusiasts showcase their problem-solving skills through robotics challenges and project creations. This year’s theme, “Connecting the World,” addresses global concerns such as marine life conservation, repairing and installing underwater IT infrastructure, automation, future initiatives for the Panama Canal, and more.
