CAREER EXPLORATION WITH GRADE 11 STUDENTS

Wrapping up Career Exploration Week 2024, Vinschool continues to guide Grade 11 students as they explore and shape their career aspirations through the 3E model (Experience – Evaluate – Envision):

• Experience: Students are encouraged to share detailed reflections on the activities, tasks, and real-world observations they participated in during the Career Exploration Week. The goal is to identify aspects of the profession that they find engaging or potentially unsuitable.
• Evaluate: Students are guided to compare their real-world experiences with their personal values, interests, and skills. Advisors use thought-provoking questions such as: “What excites you the most about this career?” or “What challenges did you notice that you need to work on?” These insights help students make a more thorough evaluation.
• Envision: Students are supported in envisioning their potential career paths based on their recent experiences and long-term goals. They are offered suggestions on skills to improve and learning opportunities to explore further within the industry.

Through analyzing real-world experiences, students will be guided to:

• Define clear career goals,
• Develop a plan to build essential skills and knowledge,
• Prepare a strong foundation for their future journey.

WHAT ABOUT GRADE 12 STUDENTS?

For Grade 12, the focus shifts to personalized 1-on-1 mentoring as they prepare to apply to universities with confidence. This program, running until December 20, 2024, supports students to:

• Strategize their scholarship and early admission applications,
• Finalize a personalized list of university preferences,
• Optimize their chances of acceptance through the Reach-Match-Safety method, widely adopted by renowned organizations like College Board and NACAC:
  • 20% Reach: Challenging schools or programs that inspire students to exceed their limits.
  • 50% Match: Choices that align with students’ abilities, increasing admission chances.
  • 30% Safety: Reliable options that ensure near-certain acceptance.

By equipping students with tailored guidance, Vinschool ensures they are ready to confidently conquer university admissions and envision their future careers.
