203 AP scores of 4–5: A reflection of Vinsers’academic depth

Vinsers outperformed the global average in 10 of 14 AP subjects in 2026; 203 AP exams earned scores of 4 or 5, including 113 perfect scores of 5/5.

The 2026 Advanced Placement (AP) results mark another outstanding year for Vinschool students. Beyond the impressive numbers, these achievements reflect students’ ability to engage with academically rigorous content, learn independently, and persevere through the intellectual challenges that advanced study demands.

In 2026, Vinsers sat 326 AP examinations across 14 subjects. According to official results from the College Board:

• 113 exams received a perfect score of 5/5, representing an increase of nearly 22% compared with the previous academic year.

• 90 exams earned a score of 4/5, a 25% increase from the previous year.

• 146 students achieved at least one score of 4 or 5, accounting for more than 64% of all AP candidates. Notably, one Vinser earned a perfect 5/5 in all five AP subjects they took.

• More than 81% of all AP exams received a score of 3 or above—a benchmark widely recognized by international universities for college credit or advanced placement.

• Several subjects recorded exceptionally high pass rates at this level, including 3-D Art & Design, Physics 2, and Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism (100%); Macroeconomics (95%); Chemistry and 2-D Art & Design (87.5%); and Microeconomics (87.2%).

• Vinsers achieved higher average scores than the global average in 10 of the 14 AP subjects, spanning Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Physics 2, Chemistry, Calculus AB, Statistics, Computer Science A, Computer Science Principles, Psychology, and Art & Design.

What stands out is not only the results themselves, but also the breadth of academic disciplines that students chose to pursue.

The Advanced Placement (AP) programme offers college-level coursework designed to challenge students well beyond the standard high school curriculum. Success requires more than subject knowledge; it demands conceptual understanding, analytical thinking, the ability to synthesize information, apply learning in unfamiliar contexts, and sustain disciplined, independent study throughout a demanding course of learning.

This year’s results, achieved across a diverse range of disciplines—from economics, science, mathematics, and computer science to psychology and the arts—demonstrate that academic excellence can be cultivated in many different directions. More importantly, each student is encouraged to pursue rigorous learning opportunities that align with their strengths, interests, and readiness.

Among this year’s high achievers were a significant number of Grade 9 and Grade 10 Vinsers. Choosing to undertake AP courses at such an early stage requires strong academic preparation, effective time management, and the perseverance to balance university-level coursework alongside the regular school curriculum.
