Launching The Math Nexus Competition – Redefining A “Math Talent”: Where Thinking Is Nurtured And Valued

Friday, 05/12/2025, 19:12 (GMT+7)

Vinschool officially launches Math Nexus – an advanced academic competition for students who love Mathematics across the entire system, where mathematical thinking takes center stage.

What does it mean to be good at Math?

Is it someone who delivers the fastest and most accurate answer? Or someone who can analyze a problem based on its essence, identify patterns, build and refine logical models through trial-and-error, and apply these insights creatively to solve problems—clearly articulating how they arrived at the result?

Math Nexus encourages intellectual challenges through diverse modes of mathematical thinking, rather than simply “remembering formulas” to solve familiar types of questions.

By joining Math Nexus, students will have the opportunity to:

  • Strengthen logical reasoning and problem-solving skills: understanding the essence of a problem, identifying key information, and applying Mathematics to real-world contexts.
  • Apply and further develop the 8 core thinking characteristics of Vinschool’s Math Program: Concrete Thinking – Characterization – Classification – Generalization – Conjecturing – Improvement – Critical Reasoning – Persuasion.
  • Connect with a community of Math enthusiasts across the system: compete, exchange perspectives, and broaden their approach to mathematical thinking.

School-level registration deadline: December 18, 2025 (Registration guided by each school)

Participants & Categories: Open to all Vinschool students from Grades 2–10, divided into four competition brackets:

  • Nexus Beginner: Grades 2–3
  • Nexus Explorer: Grades 4–5
  • Nexus Creator: Grades 6–8
  • Nexus Master: Grades 9–10
