Green Wednesday: Spreading Green Messages At Vinschool

Wednesday, 25/12/2024, 10:12 (GMT+7)

In support of the Government’s goal of achieving Net Zero by 2050, the campaign “Green Wednesday – Green Education for a Greener Future” has been launched across all Vinschool campuses nationwide since early December.

This initiative aims to raise environmental awareness among Vinsers, encourage students to develop green living habits, and understand their role in shaping a sustainable future.

Saving energy every Wednesday: Vinsers collectively participate in energy-saving activities such as reducing the use of electrical devices and maximizing natural lighting in classrooms. These small actions, when practiced consistently, contribute to building responsible and efficient energy use habits.

Sorting and recycling waste: Vinsers actively collect and sort waste, from milk cartons and paper to plastics, to recycle into unique decorative items and gifts. Notably, materials like instant noodle wrappers and candy wrappers are sent to the “Green Noodles Club” to be upcycled into handcrafted items such as traditional Vietnamese conical hats, handbags, and market baskets. These creative recycling activities help minimize waste, educate students on the value of recycling, and support the school’s upcoming charitable initiatives.

Green corners and creative learning spaces: Each classroom and hallway corner is gradually being adorned with greenery, self-planted pots, or impressively designed paintings and posters, creating inspiring green spaces from the simplest elements.

Green stalls at major events: At upcoming major events such as Spring Festival, Leadership Day, or Talent Show, Vinsers will set up Green Stalls offering eco-friendly products like fabric bags, bamboo straws, and recycled goods. Students and parents can also exchange unused clothing, books, and items to raise funds for charity.

Green-themed competitions and creative art exhibitions: Competitions like “Green Living Poster Design,” where students craft posters promoting environmental protection and display outstanding works at the school’s main hall, or “Spreading Green Ideas” and “To a Green Future 2050” encourage students of different ages to confidently present their innovative environmental protection ideas on the journey to building a sustainable future.
