From Artist Residency To An International Exhibition Space: Three GATE Talented Vinsers Conclude The “Dialogue” Art Project In Japan

Tuesday, 13/01/2026, 19:01 (GMT+7)

After two weeks of working and creating in Japan, three Fine Arts–talented students from the Vinschool Talent Development and Consultancy Center (GATE) — Từ Hoài An, Nguyễn Minh Hạnh, and Đinh Bảo Nghi — together with artist Đặng Việt Linh, officially presented the art exhibition “Dialogue” to the Japanese public at Koganecho (Yokohama).

Developed within an open art space, the exhibition “Dialogue” (03–10 January 2026) showcases approximately ten works by the three young artists and artist Đặng Việt Linh. The artworks reflect diverse perspectives on personal identity, human beings, and living spaces, alongside explorations of materials and contemporary visual language. Beyond their roles as creators, the three Vinsers also engaged in cultural exchange with the local community through the Vietnamese folk art workshop “Tò he” (27 December 2025), where they directly introduced and guided Japanese audiences in hands-on experiences with traditional Vietnamese glutinous rice dough modeling.

Commenting on the artworks and the students’ creative journey in Japan, artist Đặng Việt Linh shared: “The three students have demonstrated profound self-reflection and thoughtful artistic practice. Their works reveal the inner world of young people working in a new environment, while also expressing interaction with their living context and the people around them, carrying a clear sense of existence and connection.”

“I was truly surprised to learn that these works were created by high school students. At such a young age, they already display mature artistic thinking, a strong creative identity, and highly promising potential for further development,” shared Akita Sendo, visual artist and exhibition visitor.

Completing the “Dialogue” project and presenting their works in an international art space not only marks a significant milestone in the artistic growth of these talented Vinsers, but also highlights the role of the Vinschool Talent Development and Consultancy Center (GATE) in building a structured art education environment—serving as a springboard for students to gradually integrate into and gain recognition within prestigious global art platforms.

The “Dialogue” project was implemented as part of the International Artist-in-Residence Program at Koganecho (Yokohama, Japan) from 20 December 2025 to 04 January 2026—an esteemed art program with a limited number of participating artists each year. The three talented Vinsers are the first high school students selected to join the program in over 15 years of its operation. The project focused on two key activities: the Vietnamese folk art workshop “Tò he” and the “Dialogue” exhibition, presenting artworks created directly from the students’ residency experiences and artistic practice in an international environment.
