[Alumni Corner] The Journey Of Conquering Data Science And Software Engineering – Former Vinser Lê Duy Lãm

Lê Duy Lãm, an alumnus of Vinschool Central Park, is currently majoring in Data Science and Software Engineering while also serving as a teaching assistant at the University of Sydney (ranked among Australia's top 3 universities).

With a clear career direction from his high school years and dedicated support from Vinschool’s academic advisory team, Duy Lãm demonstrated his passion and talent in technology early on. His remarkable achievements include winning the Vietnam Robotacon Championship in 2016 and 2019, securing a Top 8 position at the WRO Hungary (2019), and receiving admission offers from six prestigious Group of Eight (G8) universities in Australia.

With an impressive university GPA of 84.7/100 (classified as “Excellent” in Australia), Duy Lãm was trusted to become a teaching assistant in his second year, helping instruct, address queries, and grade assignments for over 200 students in “Introduction to Programming” and “Professional Practices in Programming.” Always eager to learn and push boundaries, he actively participates in extracurricular activities such as the Rocket Engineering Club, which won first place at the Spaceport America Cup 2022, and the Tennis Club to enhance his skills and expand his network. In addition, he independently pursued and earned the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification, a globally recognized credential in computer networking, further solidifying his commitment to the field and strengthening his competitive edge.

Reflecting on his journey, Duy Lãm shared: “My years at Vinschool provided me with a solid foundation to adapt quickly to an international environment—from maximizing English proficiency to opportunities for critical thinking development and essential skills like time management and leadership through group projects.” Looking ahead, he plans to continue earning professional certifications, engage in new research projects, and, if circumstances allow, pursue higher education to gain deeper expertise in technology.
