A Grateful Heart – Nurturing Emotional Competence Through Simple Acts

In celebration of International Thank You Day, Vinschool Kindergarten organized a series of activities designed to help children develop and practice gratitude — a foundational Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) competency in the early years.

Through age-appropriate experiences, children were encouraged to express appreciation in meaningful and familiar ways, such as drawing pictures, creating thank-you cards, and contributing to a collective “Gratitude Tree.”

Each small creation carried a heartfelt message to those who support their growth: thanking mom for her love and care, the teachers for their guidance and dedication, the security guard for greeting them each morning, the cleaning staff for keeping the classrooms bright and tidy, the kitchen team for preparing delicious meals, and their friends for sharing and playing together.

Each small art craft became a sincere expression of appreciation for the people who accompany the children on their learning journey.

By personally saying “thank you” and presenting their creations, children develop language skills and emotional expression, learn to care for others, and cultivate respect and meaningful connections within their immediate social environment.

We believe that when gratitude is practiced through simple, everyday actions, children grow in a nurturing educational environment grounded in love and respect.
