Promoting experiential learning beyond the classroom at Vinschool Imperia

Monday, 07/10/2024, 09:10 (GMT)

In order to provide students with a foundation of knowledge and skills while promoting interdisciplinary and highly applicable projects which help children apply to real life, Vinschool Imperia has promoted experiential lessons outside the classroom.

With the diversity in teaching and learning methods, experiential learning methods have created conditions for Vinsers to form and develop the ability to adapt, flexible creative thinking, analyze and find new perspectives to solve problems.

For example:

– Grade 1 students practice their observation skills and expand their vocabulary with the topics of City and Countryside, Dream Garden… through the field trip activities of the Vietnamese subject.

– Grade 2 Vinsers conduct Science experiments in the school yard which verifies the falling speed of objects of different weights safely.

– Grade 3 students are experimenting to survey the length of the shadows of objects.

– The projects of the English subject such as interviewing school staff of grade 4 or writing a diary describing the neighborhood scene of grade 5 also help children synthesize and process information proactively as well as improve their English communication skills.

Experiential learning is an activity that encourages students to creatively apply the knowledge they have learned, practice questioning skills, and seek answers from the world around them for comprehensive development. This builds self-motivation for learning and contributes to creating a positive and dynamic learning environment.
