THE GINGERBREAD SHAPE ADVENTURE – WHERE THINKING AND CREATIVITY BEGIN WITH A FAIRY TALE!

The young learners of the Cambridge Primary Starters class at Vinschool The Harmony Kindergarten enjoyed an exciting and inspiring lesson as they brought the classic fairy tale “The Gingerbread Man” to life in a truly special way!

In the activity “The Gingerbread Shape Adventure,” the Vinsers combined Math and English, exploring basic geometric shapes and directional vocabulary through fun, hands-on experiences.

The children transformed into “little creators,” using colored paper and shapes to design their own Gingerbread mazes or cities, complete with colorful roads, bridges, houses, and rivers. They then worked together to move the Gingerbread Man character by using English commands such as “Go right!”, “Turn left!”, “Go straight!”…

Laughter, collaboration, and creativity filled the classroom. Through this activity, the children not only reviewed Math and English knowledge but also developed spatial thinking, communication skills, and teamwork.

This activity is a wonderful example of the spirit of “Learning through play – Playing to learn,” helping students learn effectively while nurturing their joy of exploration.
