How to make Maths appealing to young children? Learning through experience is the most effective way for kids to absorb knowledge and develop comprehensively. In the activity “Shape Cookies” the little friends in the Vega class (24-36 months) at Vinschool Smart City Kindergarten had a fun and meaningful experience. Not only did they create adorable cookies, but they also learned many interesting things.

✨ Learning Maths Through Senses and Experience
During the activity, children recognized and named basic shapes such as circles, squares, triangles, and rectangles by creating cookies using various molds. The process of touching the soft dough, smelling the ingredients, and feeling the changes at each stage- rolling the dough and pressing the molds- not only helped children observe the fascinating transformation of the ingredients but also created a vivid and familiar learning experience. Through this hands-on experience, children practiced many practical and age-appropriate skills, including:
✔️ Following instructions and adhering to rules: children practiced washing hands before the activity, sitting properly, waiting for their turn, and following the teacher’s instructions gently and naturally.
✔️ Self-care and forming personal habits: knowing how to wash hands properly, maintaining hygiene during cookie-making, and tidying up after finishing.
✔️ Communication and language development: naming shapes, repeating new words through interactions with the teacher and friends- helping children expand their vocabulary and improve appropriate language expression.

? Each delicious cookie not only brings joy to the children but also creates an opportunity for them to get familiar with shapes in a close and natural way, while also providing chances to practice early skills- laying the foundation for confidence and developing independence.
