Vinsers Ocean Park: Creative Experience at Sama Academy
On September 21st, 11th-grade students from Vinschool Ocean Park’s Vietnamese credit class had an incredible hands-on experience at Sconnect, the top animation studio in Vietnam.
As part of this experiential learning session, the Vinsers toured three floors of the studio: Fairy Tales, Wolfoo, and the Wolfoo game app. Through the guidance of the studio professionals, Vinsers learned about the film production process. They discovered how the scriptwriting to post-production stages are conducted. Additionally, the students were very excited to observe sample animation and game projects firsthand.
Additionally, the students participated in a workshop called “Adapting Literary Scripts to Animation Scenes & Storyboards” led by Mr. Đo Tuan Anh, Head of the SAMA Scriptwriting Department.
In the experiential learning, Vinsers accessed specialized knowledge about scene sizes, camera angles, story structure, and practiced drawing storyboards on computers based on famous literary scripts. They were enthusiastic about the experience of creating motion sketches for each character, defining interactions in the story, and arranging frames logically and understandably, which they could then apply in producing their own short animation videos.
This experiential learning session not only helped students understand the work of creating animation but also highlighted the value of cinema in promoting a country’s culture. Many students showcased beautiful drawing skills and outstanding creative thinking. Through this engaging activity, Vinsers had the opportunity to learn and explore many new and interesting things.
