Music Workshop 2024 – An Unforgettable Musical Journey With Legends Philip Quast, Anne-Maree Mcdonald & Nicholas Gentile
On the afternoon of November 5, 2024, Vinschool Smart City Secondary students embarked on a thrilling musical adventure at a workshop organized by the Music Department. With three globally acclaimed guest artists – Philip Quast, Anne-Maree McDonald, and Nicholas Gentile – in attendance, students had the rare opportunity to learn about the unique paths that led each of them to international success. This workshop gave students valuable insights, offering them inspiration, motivation, and insider knowledge that is truly priceless!
The event was designed to foster direct interaction between students and celebrated artists, creating an atmosphere where young musicians could hear firsthand the remarkable journeys, artistic challenges, and triumphs of these talented professionals. Students left feeling enriched and motivated, gaining advanced musical techniques and an expanded view of the world of music.
For our Vinsers, this workshop highlighted the universal power of music to evoke emotions and create connections. Meeting these distinguished artists ignited a new passion in our young music enthusiasts, fueling their confidence and commitment to their dreams.
The Workshop featured these memorable sessions:

- Anne-Maree McDonald introduced students to the fascinating world of opera, imparting lessons on resilience and essential vocal techniques.
- Nicholas Gentile expanded students’ views on musical theatre, offering creative tips that have driven his success at a young age.

After the workshop, many students expressed deep admiration and gratitude. Nguyen An Khanh, a 10th grader, shared, “After hearing Philip Quast, I feel more at ease on stage. My voice feels more expressive, and I now know how to focus better when memorizing scripts.” Ha Nhu Ngoc, a 12th grader, added, “The session gave me insight into the artist’s learning process and how it shapes them.”
