A Meaningful Holiday for Vinser Smart City Students
During the Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day holiday (April 6th), parents, students, and staff from Vinschool Smart City Primary School revisited Thiện Giao Mushroom Farm in Hai Phong—an area severely affected by Typhoon Yagi. This farm was previously visited by the school community during a charitable trip last September.
It is heartwarming to see that the lives of Agent Orange victims at the farm have gradually stabilized. Mr. Thanh, the farm supervisor, emotionally shared how, after the typhoon, they were uncertain about how they would continue living. Thanks to the school’s timely support, their lives have improved significantly. In particular, their quality of life has been enhanced as Vinschool sponsored a clean water system and its annual usage fees, while also renovating the playground to create a safer and more beautiful environment.
Beyond bringing meaningful gifts, Vinser students and parents participated in harvesting and packaging Lingzhi mushrooms grown at the farm. The mushroom nursery and steaming facility were among the areas previously renovated with the school’s assistance. The harvested mushrooms were then purchased by parents and school staff, generating additional funds to further support the farm’s residents.
Students also had the chance to interact, connect, and play with members of the farm community. While the initial moments were filled with shyness, the atmosphere quickly warmed up with laughter and joyful conversations.
This trip was more than just a charitable visit—it was an educational journey instilling compassion, empathy, and a spirit of giving in Vinser students, encouraging them to spread kindness throughout their lives.
A sincere thank you to all parents and students who dedicated their valuable holiday time to making this trip such a meaningful experience. We look forward to your continued support and participation in future charitable activities. Together, we can make a lasting impact!
