MAKING CHUNG CAKE FOR TẾT – A CULTURAL DISCOVERY JOURNEY FOR OUR PRESCHOOLERS

As part of nurturing a love for traditional culture, our little Vinsers from Vinschool The Harmony Kindergarten & Vinhomes Riverside enjoyed a meaningful “Traditional Bánh Chưng Wrapping” experience in a vibrant spring atmosphere.
Through observation and hands-on practice, the children became familiar with dong leaves, sticky rice, green beans, and more. They eagerly cleaned the leaves, measured the rice, and listened to the legend of Bánh Chưng. Knowledge about their roots and gratitude was formed naturally and joyfully.
With guidance from teachers and parents, the children learned how to skillfully combine each ingredient and carefully wrap each cake. Through this activity, they not only developed fine motor skills but also gained a deeper appreciation for the beautiful cultural heritage of their ancestors.
After the experience, the proud moments of our little Vinsers standing beside their neatly wrapped square cakes marked an important first step in building confidence and strengthening family bonds. These are the meaningful “building blocks” that help lay a strong foundation for their emotional growth and life skills in the future.
Let’s look back at the warm and joyful Tết moments of our little “young artisans”!
