Learning through experience – A journey connecting knowledge and Vietnamese culture
As part of the experiential learning series at Vinschool Imperia Primary School, Vinsers across the school have just completed a field trip journey themed “Vietnamese Imprints – A journey to explore national history and culture.” Taking place in late October, this series of activities brought students to a wide range of cultural and historical landmarks across the country, such as the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, the Bach Dang Giang Historical Site, Quang Ninh Museum, Mao Dien Temple of Literature, the B52 Victory Museum, and more.
During the “Vietnamese Imprints” journey, Vinsers had the opportunity to:
- Connect interdisciplinary knowledge:
Students directly collected information at museums and heritage sites. Under teachers’ guidance, Vinsers researched and decoded historical information, compared regional cultures, explored traditions of learning, and connected historical stories they heard and artifacts they observed with the content of Vietnam Studies and History–Geography. - Immerse themselves in local cultural life:
Students experienced hands-on activities by role-playing as “young farmers” or practicing traditional crafts such as weaving straw brooms, decorating paper fans, pottery making, and creating paper puppets. These activities were linked to the Visual Arts and Vietnam Studies curriculum, helping students understand agricultural production processes and further appreciate the value of traditional culture. - Apply real-life knowledge to learning projects:
Vinsers skillfully applied insights gained from their experiences to learning activities, such as writing descriptive essays about the field trip in Vietnamese Language lessons and carrying out the History project “Exploring Regional Cultures.”

Each trip became a meaningful journey that nurtured love for the homeland, awakened national pride, and cultivated in Vinsers Imperia the qualities of global citizens rich in Vietnamese identity. These experiential outings not only helped students develop thinking skills, observation abilities, and teamwork, but also clearly reflected Vinschool’s spirit of “Learning through experience”—where knowledge is closely connected with real life.
