Happiness Week – where Vinsers learn to manage emotions and build a thriving school community
What is the secret to nurturing happiness and creating a happy school?
Last week, Vinschool Imperia Primary embarked on a meaningful journey with students through the School Mental Health and Well-being Week. It was an opportunity for Vinsers to slow down, understand themselves better, connect with others, and sustainably develop their social-emotional competencies.
More than simply participating, our young Vinsers took the lead in “designing” a series of meaningful experiences. From exploring self-awareness through the “Emotion Box” to role-playing real-life classroom situations, students learned to understand and regulate themselves while fostering a united “Friendship Classroom.” This journey was further nurtured through the “7 Days of Happiness Plan” and the “Sharing Families” project, empowering children to cultivate positive habits, communicate openly, and strengthen relationships both at school and at home.
Throughout the week, Vinsers also learned to embrace differences and appreciate individuality through the “Respect the Difference – Be U Inside Out” initiative. Alongside supporting emotional well-being, the school and students paid close attention to physical health through the “My Nap Time” initiative. With moments of mindfulness before sleep and adequate, peaceful naps, students recharged their energy and enthusiasm for afternoon lessons.
On the International Day of Happiness (March 20), Vinsers embarked on a journey through five emotional stations: anger, fear, surprise, joy, and happiness. Each station offered fascinating insights into different emotions, and students completed challenges and activities to progress along the “Path to Happiness.” From laughter-filled moments while decoding anger to the excitement of dancing to “Calling Happiness,” Thanh Lam from Class 4A6 shared: “Everyone was excited and completed the stations quickly because we truly understood ourselves.”
As the week came to a close, students were ready to carry these valuable lessons into the System-wide School Mental Health Initiative 2025–2026. Vinschool Imperia Primary students continue to cultivate a safe, caring, and loving learning environment for all!
