Experiencing Vietnamese Studies through Mid-Autumn Festival Activities
The Mid-Autumn Festival was a highlight of the event series at Vinschool Thang Long last September. With the theme “Happiness as Round as the Moon,” this year’s event aimed to convey a heartfelt message, expressing the wish for a full, joyful moon season for all the children and families across the country.
The Mid-Autumn Festival is a special event in September at Vinschool Thang Long, drawing enthusiastic participation from both students and parents. With the theme “Happiness as Round as the Moon,” the event is not only entertaining but also imbued with profound humanitarian values. It emphasizes the importance of family and togetherness, expressing the hope that every family experiences a complete and fulfilling moon season. Activities are designed to create a warm atmosphere, strengthening bonds among family members and the community. Additionally, the festival provides an opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of traditional culture, fostering pride in their national identity. This truly meaningful celebration allows students to not only enjoy themselves but also learn and experience the precious cultural values of their homeland. Undoubtedly, the Mid-Autumn Festival at Vinschool Thang Long is more than just an event; it’s a comprehensive experience that helps each student cherish beautiful and profound memories.

The event serves as an opportunity for students to practice achieving learning objectives and outcomes in Vietnamese studies. Before the event, the meaningful warm-up activities saw enthusiastic participation from the children. The elementary students crafted carp lanterns, while the secondary students created lion heads. The adorable and intricately made products from each grade left a deep impression on the judging panel.

In addition to cultural activities, the food corners featuring traditional mooncakes were meticulously prepared. The second-hand goods fair, lion dances, and magic performances attracted a large number of participants, both students and parents. These activities not only brought joy but also provided an opportunity for the children to explore and appreciate the beauty of the nation’s cuisine and culture.
Another highlight of the festival is the charity activity, where the school organized a donation to support people who suffered heavy losses after the historic storm and flood Y. Through this, students not only learned the meaning of gratitude but were also educated about sharing and caring for those around them. These small but meaningful actions will contribute to forming good citizens who know how to love and share with the community.
The school would like to express our sincere thanks to the Parents’ Association, teachers, and especially the Vinsers who participated and supported the program wholeheartedly.
