Why Start So Young? The Power of Movement for Our Youngest Movers LUNA (18–24 Months) – A Gentle Start to a Lifetime of Movement

Sharing from Ms. Vivian – Founder of the physical education program Vivo Kids, specialized in Sports Science in Singapore.

At 18–24 months, children are entering a remarkable phase of growth. Their brains are forming new neural connections at lightning speed, and their bodies are learning to move, balance, and explore the world in new ways.

Every action—clapping along to music, crawling through a tunnel, reaching for a bubble—plays a role in building the foundation for physical coordination, cognitive processing, and emotional development.

That’s why Vivo Kids created a program for the Luna age group—a movement-based experience tailored for toddlers taking their first steps into independent mobility and play. Grounded in music, joyful exploration, and age-appropriate challenges, Vivo Kids meets Luna children exactly where they are: curious, wobbly, and full of energy.

In the Vivo Kids Luna program, we focus on:

  • Fine and gross motor skills
Through playful action songs and nursery rhymes that support rhythm, balance, and coordination.
  • Sensory-rich experiences
Using bubbles, textures, and guided movement to spark curiosity and body awareness.
  • Simple locomotor skills
Like crawling, stepping, and balancing—building strength, stability, and confidence.
  • Repetition and solo play
Developmentally appropriate for this age group and critical for mastering new skills.

Most importantly, every Vivo Kids Luna session is designed to bring joy, connection, and confidence—helping children form a positive, lasting relationship with movement and physical expression.

Starting early doesn’t mean pushing too hard. It means gently guiding toddlers in a safe, supportive, and joyful environment—where they feel seen, celebrated, and free to explore at their own pace.

That’s the heart of Vivo Kids—and the promise of the Vivo Kids Luna experience.
