Halloween: Turning fun into learning at Vinschool Kindergarten

At Vinschool kindergartens, Halloween is more than just costumes and candy. It is an opportunity for children to explore, create, and grow through engaging, hands-on activities. Let’s take a closer look at how our young learners enjoyed an exciting and enriching Halloween experience!

Unleashing creativity through costumes: Students let their imaginations soar as they created art projects like the “Emotion Pumpkin Patch,” crafted their own masks, decorated witch hats, and repurposed recycled materials into imaginative costumes.  These activities not only nurtured their artistic talents but also boosted their confidence and created meaningful friendships.

Using candy for fun math activities: Candy was not only a treat for eating but also an engaging “tool” for learning  basic math concepts! CStudents practiced sorting by color and shape, counting pieces, grouping them into categories, and making estimations. Through these playful exercises, they practiced essential math skills while learning the joy of sharing treats with their friends.

Polishing communication skills with “Trick or Treat?”:  Saying “Trick or Treat” while visiting neighboring classrooms gave students the perfect opportunity to practice polite communication and demonstrate respect for others, creating a warm and friendly learning environment.

Exploring the life cycle of a pumpkin: Through hands-on exploration, students learned about the life cycle of a pumpkin, from a tiny seed to a fully grown fruit. By observing and documenting its growth, they gained a deeper understanding of plant life cycles and their connection to nature. Even after Halloween, they continued learning by watching the pumpkins decompose, gaining insights into the wonders of natural cycles and decomposition.

Enjoying festive Halloween celebrations: The celebrations were packed with exciting games and challenges designed to build persistence and self-confidence. The costume parade was a highlight of the day, where students proudly displayed their creative outfits, showcasing their unique personalities and favorite characters.
