Announcement of the Innovation Challenge Competition for the 2024-2025 School Year

The Innovation Challenge is an annual event designed to encourage secondary students nationwide to engage in scientific research (SR) and creativity across fields such as Natural Sciences, Technology - Engineering - IT, and Social Sciences, under the theme "Green Transformation." Students will apply their knowledge to solve real-world problems while having the opportunity to exchange ideas with leading experts, gain career guidance, and strive for success in international science competitions.

Through the competition, the Organizing Committee (OC) will select outstanding projects to guide them towards national science and technology competitions, as well as prestigious international invention exhibitions and contests.

Competition Details:

  1. Eligibility: All students from grades 6 to 12 within the Vinschool System, as well as students outside the system who wish to participate, are eligible to join. Both Vinschool and non-Vinschool students can register for the competition through their teachers or the school administration. Each project can have a maximum of 5 students participating.
  2. Fields of Competition: Research projects may fall into 22 different fields across three categories: Natural Sciences, Technology – Engineering – IT, and Social and Behavioral Sciences.
  3. Requirements:
    • Ensure integrity in scientific research: no cheating, plagiarism, falsification, or presenting others’ work as one’s own.
    • Projects based on previous research in the same field are allowed, but they must demonstrate new and distinct developments compared to the previous work.
    • If the submitted project is part of a larger study, the student must be the sole author of the project being submitted.
    • Projects involving pathogens, hazardous chemicals, or substances harmful to the environment are not permitted to participate.
  4. Benefits:
    • Students with submitted projects will receive a Certificate and Awards from the OC, as well as opportunities to participate in city, national, and international competitions.
    • Students whose projects qualify for the final round will receive financial support.
  5. Important Dates:
    • Competition Launch: September 17, 2024
    • Registration Deadline: September 2024
    • Preliminary Round: October – November 2024
    • Semi-Final Round: November 2024
    • Final Round: March 2025
