Thursday, 26/09/2024, 18:09 (GMT+7)

At Vinschool, workstations are designed to enhance students’ English as a Second Language (ESL) learning experience. These stations not only focus on language acquisition but also promote social-emotional learning (SEL), critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Each workstation is thoughtfully customized by teachers to align with students' individual interests, abilities, and learning progress.

Station 1: Crafting letters with clay

  • Building Vocabulary and Pronunciation:  Students craft letters using clay, combining vocabulary development with pronunciation practice. This hands-on activity strengthens letter recognition through tactile engagement.
  • Fostering critical thinking and creativity: By shaping letters, students explore their structure and form, encouraging critical thinking and creativity throughout the process.
Children create letters out of clay, building their vocabulary while practicing pronunciation.

Station 2: “Writing” letters on smart boards

  • Dynamic language learning: Writing on smart boards makes letter recognition and pronunciation engaging through visual and audio elements. Students encounter new vocabulary in an interactive, digital format that enhances their enthusiasm for learning English.
  • Developing analytical skills: Identifying and distinguishing between letters sharpens students’ memory and analytical thinking abilities.
Using the smart board helps children recognize and pronounce letters through engaging audio and visuals.

Station 3: Creative play with recycled letter cards

  • Language development: With recycled letter cards, students practice distinguishing uppercase from lowercase letters, strengthening their understanding of language rules.
  • Building social skills: Collaborative activities encourage students to work together, enhancing communication and teamwork.
  • Promoting environmental awareness: Using recycled materials teaches students the importance of sustainability and responsible resource use.
By recycling and reusing materials, children develop a sense of environmental responsibility.
Station 4: Writing names in sand
  • Practical language practice: Writing names in sand helps students practice writing, recognize their names and those of peers, and expand their vocabulary while improving letter recognition.
  • Improved confidence and social skills: This activity fosters teamwork, communication, and self-confidence in a supportive and friendly environment.

Station 5: Reflection and assessment

Fostering self-assessment and independent learning skills: Students are encouraged to reflect on their progress and engage in simple self-assessment activities, developing the ability to monitor and adapt their learning strategies.
