Future Innovators 2023: GATE Center’s Recruitment of Talented Students

Continuing the journey of finding and nurturing talents, Vinschool’s Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) Center has officially launched “Future Innovators 2023” to recruit talented students for four academic fields:  STEM – Manufacturing Science, STEM – Scientific Research, Social Sciences and Literature, and Research on Global Issues.

GATE Center’s “Future Innovators 2023” aims at finding “future creators”: students with outstanding talents who demonstrate the passion and desire to develop their talent and fulfill their goals of creating positive changes for society.

More than just common knowledge tests, Future Innovators 2023 is organized in the form of a contest with a variety of components to give the most multi-dimensional, comprehensive and realistic assessment of the candidates’ talents.

The recruitment process is expected to give the participants valuable academic experiences and serve as a stepping stone for their talent development journey.

Recruitment fields:

• STEM – Manufacturing Science: Students who have aptitude and passion for programming (software) and manufacturing engineering (hardware).
• STEM – Scientific Research: Students who have aptitude and passion for science and want to seek opportunities to apply research to real-world problem-solving.
• Research on Global Issues: Students who are especially interested in global social problems and keen on finding solutions through practical activities.
• Social Sciences and Literature:

• • Social Sciences: Students who show deeper interest in History, Culture, and Economics than their peers, as well as greater desire to put forth solutions to common problems facing the society.
  • Literature: Students who have outstanding abilities to master words, have a special understanding of and interest in Literature, and wish to make Literature part of human life.

Eligible candidates:

Students in Grades 6-11 (2022-2023 school year) from any Vinschool campus in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Recruitment Rounds and Tentative Schedule: 

1. Qualifying Round: January 5, 2023 – February 28, 2023

Candidates register via this link with a Talent Profile containing all required documents and proofs. In other words, it is an opportunity for the candidates to show off their talents, passion, personality, differences and outstanding qualities.

The Talent Profile includes:

• Curriculum Vitae (CV): A personal introduction, where candidates share information about themselves and their participation in activities and projects relevant to the chosen field.
• Personal statement: An essay that shows candidates’ passion, personality and interest in the field the candidates are applying for, through which the Center will see that they are different and stand out from other candidates. It also reveals the candidates’ orientation for the field.
• Portfolio: Collection of proofs (in digital format of unlimited quantity) showing the candidates’ ability in the chosen field. 

Note: Each field will have specific requirements for the essay & portfolio. Please refer to the Application Guide to prepare the most appropriate documentation.

After the Organizing Board reviews the applications, candidates who show the highest potential will be contacted for the Assessment Round.

2. Assessment Round: March-April 2023

Candidates who pass the Qualifying Round will participate in different test components to provide GATE Center with the most multidimensional assessments on their knowledge, ability and passion in the respective field. Details and instructions for the Assessment Round will be sent to candidates by the GATE Center after the Qualifying Round.

3. Interview Round: May 2023

This component aims to give the Panel of Judges opportunities to meet the candidates in person, gain better insight into their aspirations and interests, and consider the suitability of the candidates with the training orientation at GATE Center, which can ultimate make the most accurate and comprehensive assessments of the candidate’s ability and passion for the chosen field.
