How is the International Standard Physical Education Curriculum at Vinschool?

Friday, 09/11/2018, 15:11 (GMT+7)

Starting from the 2018 – 2019 academic year, Vinschool rolls out an international standard Physical Education curriculum that is currently being taught in the UK, US, Canada, etc. There are 3 main parts in the curriculum: Active living (to teach students how to maintain their positive attitude, and keep their own safety), Healthy living (to provide students with knowledge about health and a healthy lifestyle), and Movement competence (to provide students with knowledge about movement, physical fitness and sports).

Students will participate in 6 different units of activities, including: fitness; sports; games; physical education; water activities and movement. In each grade, students will take part in all 6 units through diverse activities. In a school year, students can experience from 5-7 different activities.

For primary students, the curriculum focuses on positive body movement, particularly the development of fine motor skills. For secondary schools, the curriculum focuses on team sports and developing team play. The curriculum for high schools continues to focus on team sports and development of competitive skills for students.

Some thoughts from Mr. Scott Anthony Neufeld – Director of Physical Education at Vinschool and teachers and students shall help us better understand the new PE program for the 2018 – 2019 academic year.
